I have painted for a model soldier outlet long time ago so I know like you the work that goes into this especially for me at one time 8 hours a day so I note beautiful brushwork when I see it , however one item is slightly incorrect is the trousers , they are far to light a Blue. British infantry trousers with Red welts were ( as they still are now in best dress ) a Dark Navy Blue colour . Most often seen today worn by the Guards Regiments outside Buck Palace . However your work is still outstanding and I thank you for sharing

Very true about the trousers. I applied a fair measure of artistic licence. I paint for how things look on the table top and I preferred the brighter blue. My choice of Blues across various subjects can be a bit wild!

Nice paint job. Very clean lines. The bases bring the painting to 150%.
@PanzerSchule3 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I wasn't sure about the base. I wanted something that spoke of the plains of Africa with red earth and tall grass. Hopefully that's what it looks like!

You make painting the white strapping so easy !

Just practice I suppose. Perhaps that and I'm more used to 15mm scale so this figure looks huge to me! Thanks for watching.

Excellent guide. I (an Englishman) watched whilst painting 28mm Jacobites. Oh the irony :)

I'm painting a box of these soon for a client so will be checking the guide myself soon! Thanks for watching and commenting.

Wow, those look fantastic! How did it feel painting 28mm over 15mm?
@PanzerSchule3 жыл бұрын
28mm figures look a bit daunting to me though that's what I painted for ever in years gone by. I'm doing a large Crusades project for a mate though so I'm getting used to it again.

Hi, very nice indeed. Did you do a zulu how paint please?
@PanzerSchule11 ай бұрын
Thanks Andrew. I've not recorded a Zulu guide and it would appear to be an obvious choice now. If I get my hands on some Zulus, I'll be sure to upload a guide. Thanks for watching.

What size and make of paint brushes do you use?
@PanzerSchule Жыл бұрын
I tend to use whatever I have to hand. I'm always buying a range of different brands and types. Thought I don't like buying brushes unless I can see the hairs in place. Nothing worse than buying one online and it's already splayed. If I was to recommend anything it would be the Army Painter Insane Detail brush. That is one I will always go back to.

Is the German Camo Black Brown base paint sprayed or painted on?
@PanzerSchule3 жыл бұрын
In this case I painted it on. If I have large projects to complete I sometimes spray it on with my airbrush. Either way it's from the same bottle and not a spray can. Hope that helps.

What white did you use to highlight the straps and webbing?
@PanzerSchule2 жыл бұрын
I used a simple, pure white. Not an off white or ivory/deck tan type colour. The pure white is great for a highlight as the previous layers are not so bright. You can get a nice clear edge/fold from this. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching.
