#replay @jonathanmarcmendespaintedlove I have a question about this technique. I've watched all of your marble finish tutorials a few times and am ready to attempt it on a piece that has a wood top that was badly damaged and has a lot of filler in it, as well as a big oil stain in one corner that so far, has caused me some issues with adhesion. First, I was wondering what you could recommend to me for prepping the piece to do this? Second, I have finished the piece using a tutorial from Nicola, creating a very chipped, aged finish using Provence and Old White, Honfluer and Grapite and dark and Black waxes for aging. I've done the wood legs in Graphite and would like to do a very dark (almost Black) marble finish. The piece does have some rust color in it as well. Could you recommend what colors I could use in the top that would fit well with the piece and legs? I'm thinking surely a Graphite base but think maybe just Old White veining. Should I add any tones of Honfleur or would that look too unrealistic? Any advice is appreciated!!! Thanks so much for any thoughts. Your tutorials are incredibly helpful!

Hi Jonathon. Just found your channel and love your work. I did City and Guilds and NVQ’s YEARS ago. Went on to do Commissions and Exhibition work. Don’t know whether you have tried using a feather to apply veins? It gives an unpredictable line and is so realistic. Feather is held loosely. For me, your piece cries out for a faint touch of gold. (Personal preference) hope you don’t mind me saying. There was no such thing as Chalk paint when I was working. It was all Oils. Chalk paint is so forgiving. I love it! I look forward to watching all you videos.

Of course I don’t mind you saying originally when I started working on this technique using chalk paint I tried the feather it just didn’t work the paint probably too heavy it does work really well with acrylic paints so I suppose I had to revert to a brush most of my chart painting techniques have developed and looking back at some of those Techniques from the past using acrylic base paints and then just rework to work with chalk paint that makes sense thank you for watching and lovely to meet you if not in person via this message😀

I want to paint an ugly brown marble top a base color, maybe White and then put paris gray veining on it. I assume I would have to do the base coat and let it dry well and then add the veining but wanted to be sure that It would be okay to paint on top of a base coat of paint. Also, can this withstand weather because my item is an outdoor fire pit table.

The colour combination sounds lovely but you could go with graphite which is a dark grey and when you blend away it will turn pretty much lighter grey I do have other tutorials on modelling As for withstanding outdoors it may need a really strong topcoat such as a yacht varnish for durability or even epoxy resin would be awesome over the top

Your camera is not facing right again. Can only see a small portion of the screen. Jonathan you keep touching your face. Not good during these times. Sorry, not trying to offend you. The marbling is gorgeous by the way.
