Hi there, Only just discovered your work and was totally blown away by the fact you didn't have a drawing tablet. To do this art with a mouse....... beyond amazing. Can I say that I bought a XP-Pen Artist 15.6" tablet/screen for my brother. It is fantastic, alot cheaper than Wacom ones, but gets great reviews and I can honestly say if you haven't bought anything yet please check out this, or the bigger ones. You won't be disappointed.

That was very insightful, I wanted to get into Krita because Rebelle 3 had trouble running on linux, but I was fearful of losing all those nice features simulating watercolor behavior. But now I can approximate it much better, thanks to your examples. Also, your usage of the mouse is pure wizardry.

I would have been interesting to hear more about your workflow. Do you change between brushes with keyboard shortcuts or do you use the GUI elements for all changes? I understand that the video was more like a timelapse than a real working speed so it would be interesting to see some tips about effective use of the interface, too.
@sergio_tellez2 жыл бұрын
I use shortcuts for canvas manipulation, eraser, layers navigation, selections, etc. But for changing my brushes I use the krita pop-up palette.

Does using a mouse make your hand or wrist hurt? What do you do to prevent that? How long does a painting take for you? I definitely have to try finding your work on the krita-artists forum!
@sergio_tellez2 жыл бұрын
Well, I don't use a mouse anymore but yes. Using a mouse was taxing, both physically and mentally. I remember that my hand started to hurt after about three hours of work at the end. That's why I recommend everyone to get a drawing tablet as soon as they can, that's the best way to take care of your wrist. Also, painting is more time consuming with a mouse. A portrait usually takes between four to eight hours, if it is a complete illustrations or something more complex it can take a way longer. I have expend more than nineteen hours on some.

how did you make the right click shortcut have so many brushes? 0:55
@sergio_tellez3 жыл бұрын
Hi Blue. That's easy, in Krita in the menu bar, go to settings -> configure krita. A window should appear. In General (with a house icon) there are several tabs, go to the one in the right named miscellaneous. There, there is an option that says: Number of palette presets. There, you can put the number you whant up to 30. And that's all. Cheers.

How did you get the source photo to be to the left of your canvas? I'm searching the user's guide now. You are amazing. No one should complain about their tools not being good enough if you do that with a mouse!
@sergio_tellez3 жыл бұрын
Thank you Julie, you are very kind. In the left side of Krita, look for the image reference tool. It has an icon of a pushpin. Then, go to the options tool tab. Generally it is above the color selector. There you can add an image with the plus button, and change its saturation and opacity. If you want to transform it, then right click on the image. With left click you can drag and drop it wherever you want. Hope that helps. Cheers.

How do you push the picture on the left side? Mine dissapeares every time :///(sorry for my Bad english)
@sergio_tellez3 жыл бұрын
That should not happen. Are you using the correct tool to insert the image? Maybe you are inserting the image as a new layer. Use the reference image tool instead. I also speak Spanish if you prefer. Let me know if you keep having the problem. Cheers.

No sé si hables español así que lo voy a intentar. Esos pinceles de acuarela de donde los descargaste o qué versión es tu Krita? El punto es, dónde puedo conseguirlos? Those watercolor brushes where did you download them from or what version is your Krita? The point is, where can I get them?
@sergio_tellez4 жыл бұрын
Saludos.

They are a new set of Watercolor Brushes. You can find them in the brushes docker, looking for them with the key word: "water". As far as I remember they are not in any etiquette yet. The exact name of my favourite one is: j)_waterC_Basic_Round-Grain. Make sure you are using a recent version of Krita. Cheers.
