Getting back on the engine. We get it painted and put together with some added realism with some simple paint tricks. Prepping it for the detailing that we will cover in Part 8.
Enjoy,

Enjoying this series. Tks for the tip on 'aging' aluminum. I'll also be doing the freeze plug detail on my next build. Back in the late 60's and 70's, when I built an engine, I would install the plugs and then paint the block. Never crossed my mind to detail them on my models. Everyone, stay safe out there!

Making videos showing how you deal with various individual components is a good thing. Better than a bumper to bumper build right out of the box. Like, you're showing us a SB Chevy, but this could eaquely apply to most any kit sourced engine.

You know Luka, THIS is YOUR channel. I think you do GREAT videos! There are always going to be certain viewers who tend to take things wrong or out of context? Let the chips fall as they may. People like that have issues beyond the control that anyone can do anything about. It is always one's right to scroll past or just not tune in if such content is unsuitable for them. Please keep doing what you do! I ALWAYS learn something from your videos, and appreciate the experience. People are stupid about some things, and with the internet being the way it is they suddenly put themselves in a position of being experts at whatever! Silly, silly, silly I say. Carry on Luka, we like these videos & enjoy the content. Whatever you decide to post is something to watch or something to learn from!

Great video! The purists will come at me with torches and pitchforks, but after I paint the engine, I put dullcoat on it. I think it looks more realistic. That's my taste.

I just started on a model of Jeff Gordon’s Du Pont Monte Carlo. Haven’t done one of these in forever so I made the mistake of not painting the individual engine pieces first. Timing cover, intake, carb, heads, and distributor are on before I realized wait a minute, I’m gonna have a heck of a time painting these their appropriate color. So a lesson learned, take my time and do it right the first time. Lol.

Love the VHT engine paint on the intake manifold great idea.A lot of builders use one or two Metalizer colours for the entire build. Just small changes in paint colours makes a vast difference to the overall look of a model kit.Use any paint that works on styrene to get the look your after.Don't be afraid of experimenting thats how new technics are discovered.

You can still buy that old-school acrylic lacquer krylon spray paint that dries really fast. It's in their industrial line and it's labeled as krylon "acryli-quik".

Hello I'm a first time watcher here. I'm enjoying your show. Myself started modeling at the age of 8 and I'm now 58. I'm to the point where your painting the oil pan. So you may still answer my questions elsewhere in the video. Wich model master paint line are you using oil/acrylic and do also use testors oil.? I have used testors model master almost exclusively try tamiya a couple of times. Within the last yr or so I have purchased. AMMO. AK INTERACTIVE . VALLEJO but yet to try them.? Thank you for putting your skills up for us to learn from.

First. Welcome to the channel. The answer is in the video. But there is another part that is more about the painting. It's on the transmission right before this part. The trick it lacquers. It won't work with the paints you mentioned. Problem. This line of paints has been discontinued. BUT There is something new coming. If you are in the U.S.A. if you are elsewhere. You can get it. Tamiya new lacquers. They have Metallizers paints that are perfect. I have found them on line.

Iam trying to figure out what do about gluing painted parts. when I glue painted parts the glue removes the paint on the painted surface and it turns out to be a messy glue job. Is there an answer for this?

Hello thanks for the video!. First time watcher. I'm curious, why don't you remove paint before gluing surfaces together? It seems like you are depending on the integrity of the paint to keep parts together. Thank you!! Good video! Lots of useful dialogue!

Hello,I just have to ask now-does there not be the risk of painting with spray cans? Or are these colors that do not exist in Germany? But as always also applies to this post-well done and very instructive-thank you.
