How to Paint Flowers | Acrylic Painting Tutorial

Learn how to paint flowers in this, step by step, acrylic painting tutorial with artist Ashley Krieger. This lesson is taught in a way that will be easy enough for beginner artists. It is a fun loosely painted floral that is playful and therapeutic to paint. This tutorial is inspired by artists Holly Platt and Tipperleyhill and brought to you by the support of Createful Art Members.
In this art tutorial, I give you an art lesson on the differences between acrylic inks, soft body, heavy body, and gouache paints.
For a guide, below is a brief description of each:
Heavy Body Paints- Are thick, create texture, and act more like oil paints.
Soft Body Paints- Don't create texture and level out.
Acrylic Inks -Are runny. Great for dripping, splattering and doing watercolor techniques.
Acrylic Gouache - These are like soft body but dry matte and create solid color.
Acrylic Mediums - These can be added to any paint type you have to change your paints character into whatever you want. There are several mediums to choose from.

Yes, your acrylics won't drip on there own as much so just use your brush to create drip looks. Have fun!

I just enjoyed watching this. I thought that after you or I when I attempt to paint this, are almost finished couldn't you take the black color and narrow the edges of the line drips to make those drips take the shape of a vase holding the flowers?

This was SO HARD!!! I'm super bad at painting random marks and just doing squiggles here and there and the shape of the flowers killed me.... and for some reason, I ended up with a dozen flowers instead of 5 😬
