Brilliant tutorial! I really appreciate your ideas about not stressing for perfection at the beginning. Mistakes are going to happen, knowing how to fix them is the important part.

You are so welcome, life is too short to get worked up over little plastic warmachines so accepting things can get a bit messed up and working with them or moving on makes for a better time painting.

This is one of those amazing times when being an armor or aircraft modeller come in handy. This particular Aerospace fighter paint job looks amazing and you did an awesome job in my opinion recreating it. I used your jeweling/canopy effect for the antireflective coating on a 1/35 scale M2A2 Bradley's periscopes and I think it looks great.

That's great to hear that you liked the reflection technique. I like how it turned out as well and will try to use it on something again in the future.

Please don't let it discourage you from painting your own models. As long as you're happy with your own work, what other people do shouldn't make you feel any less capable of making a miniature look good.

Just started airbrushing, and I really appreciate the basic info you put in about it. Seems like my PSI was way too high and my needle was too big - guess that explains why I felt like I was shooting my mechs with a paint firehose. Going to try it more like the way you did, and hopefully it will work out a little better this time!
@CamoSpecsOnline2 жыл бұрын
Glad it will be useful for you to get into airbrushing. I wouldn't be concerned about your needle being too big, the SOTAR is a detail airbrush with a .2mm needle. My more regular use brush is an Iwata CS that has a .4mm needle and it can do a wider variety of tasks like priming and varnishing in addition to things like this. Trigger control after you get your air settings and paint mix dialed in is where the majority of your results will depend. Bottom line, don't go out and buy a new airbrush, I started with the larger size and did a lot of learning and I'm better off for it.

Different brands of brush use different working pressures, as well. Badger airbrushes are low pressure brushes, with most of them using about 15 p.s.i. for normal operation. My Harder and Steinbeck uses 20 to 35 p.s.i.
@Deusorum Жыл бұрын
@@gkeaton9755 Worth knowing - I'm using a Harder & Steinbeck but I had the PSI way high - that plus the .4mm needle was shooting paint all over the place. I've gotten a lot better with it in the past 10 months though!

I know it's a bit niche, but it would be possible to do this kind of effect with oil blending on each panel or if you're a glutton for punishment, glaze blends. The time spent though would be significantly more for those methods.

Tyra of the Rasalhague led, Forth her fiery flying Drakøns, Gallant in bronze. Tyra and her warriors fought Like crazed demons above Radstadt. When her fighter was crippled by ours, And her life leaked away into the endless night, She chose to die And sent her fighter like a spear Through the Dire Wolf, claiming as isorla Our mighty ilKhan's life. Is there a video just using bottle paint and not an air machine in order to achieve close to this. Just getting back into paint and don't have or know how to use one.
@CamoSpecsOnline2 жыл бұрын
For this particular result it would take a lot of blending through glazing techniques which is entirely possible to do, but not something I’ll demonstrate on this exact scheme again. Don’t worry, most tutorials here don’t require an airbrush, I simply include a wide variety of methods and techniques to appeal to new, intermediate, and experienced painters.

"...to save you from watching even more paint dry..." I never would have thought that phrase, though I guess it's technically correct. I guess it's a sign you've hit the right blend of education and entertainment when the viewer enjoys you narrating drying paint. Move over Morgan Freeman!

Hi, I have no idea how I got here. What is CSO level? What universe is this? The video is great quality but I have no idea what it's all about.

Welcome, glad you stumbled across our channel. The game is Battletech, set mainly in the 31st century. CSO is short for Camo Specs Online, our website that is the official source for the hundreds of different factions and paint schemes.

"You've taken your first step into a larger world" - Obi Wan Kenobi BattleTech is awesome. It started as "merely" a tabletop miniature wargame that predates Warhammer 40K and drew the legal ire of George Lucas due to its original name of BattleDroids. The main story line is a sort of space opera that folks have recently begun calling "Game of Thrones in space". There's truly something for almost everyone in the BattleTech universe now from tabletop wargaming, a roleplaying game, a trading card game, a clix game, unit art and design, cosplay, hundreds of novels and game sourcebooks full of lore, fanfiction, and, even after almost forty years, some of the original authors of the lore are still writing for it. The BattleTech and MechWarrior franchises have also been portrayed (and morphed into subfranchises like MechCommander and MechAssault) in several videogames and even an almost-anime-styled television series by Saban Entertainment back in '94.
