Hey, when you say a shadow, do you mean a darker tone around whatever colour you use ( do you have any layer effects turned on like glow or shadow in the layers menu on the right)? Or do you mean instead of having a harder edge, the brush is leaving a gradient / soft airbrush effect on the outside of each stroke?

Hi their I settled the brush to the same setting as yours with the shape dynamics, transfer ect but my pen pressure comes up with (!) next to them and I think it might be the course for the settings not working and instead it comes out like black blobs im using a tablet and cs6 is their anything you can advice?
@musicalspygirlLU9 жыл бұрын
musicalspygirlLU it comes up next to (control)
@SketchedbySte9 жыл бұрын
musicalspygirlLU Could you possibly upload the image to a website like imgur.com/ and post me the link so I can see what you mean. Usually that '!' comes up next to pen pressure when you are using a mouse or your pen has no pressure. does your pen and tablet definitely have pen pressure levels? To check this, just choose any brush with any transfer or dynamics on and see if it response to the pressure you use i.e brush gets bigger the harder you press. if that works we can at least rule that out. Also make sure when you make the brush you use your pen and tablet to do it all. if you switch to the mouse, it again shows the exclamation mark next to pen pressure as it doesn't pick the pen up. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching :)

Dude that's not bad at all! are you trying to make blonde hair or green though? Just because when you darken that shade of color it goes green, so it might be worth using a brown for the darker areas, that's if it wasn't purposely green of coarse! Just try it a few times experimenting with colors and maybe start applying it onto a head too, i Honestly think it looks pretty damn similar to mine :)

@SketchedbySte10 жыл бұрын
Hey, thanks for watching my digital painting hair tutorial. Yes you could make this with a mouse, the brush itself would work still but there would be certain elements that would not work with a mouse due to it not having the pen pressure sensitivity. i.e as you press lighter the hair strands get smaller. with a mouse that wouldn't happen.

@SketchedbySte9 жыл бұрын
+p40tomahawk25 Thanks for watching, if you are just using a mouse you will be able to make the brush itself but you won't be able to use any of the pressure features such as the opacity and size, for example if you press gently it will be smaller and more transparent, as you press harder the hair strands get bigger and fuller. Does that make sense?
@sassvannah75689 жыл бұрын
my shape looks nothing like that ;-;
@SketchedbySte9 жыл бұрын
+sassvannah Ah I am sorry to hear that, which part of the video are you having trouble with, and are you using a graphics tablet / pen that has pressure sensitivity?
@sassvannah75689 жыл бұрын
+learningasidraw i'm just using my computer mouse. But like when he starts going to shape dynamics, the brush changes it's shape to a curvy look, and mine doesn't do that
@SketchedbySte9 жыл бұрын
Ahh sorry I should have been more specific in the video, it is nothing that you are doing wrong, but when you click shape dynamics it matches your pen pressure sensitivity i.e the lightly you press the thinner / closer together the lines will be, the harder you press, the bigger and more spread they will be. Because you are using a mouse, it does not have pen pressure so it won't show a change, and it will probably show an exclamation mark (!) in a triangle next to it too. Sorry for the confusion! But thank you for watching my video.

Oh yes, you definitely should! Some of the cheapest Wacom tablets are still really good! Although the small ones are a bit too small in my opinion so I would go for a medium, although I guess that is just personal preference. Thank you for the kind words!

@@SketchedbySte she was just being sarcastic about the fact you said "first things first" too much in this video. 😂
