I thought that would be more of a matte than it turned out to be , it looked more like a semi gloss. Do you have any suggestions for a true matte black? Thanks .

It get a little more matte after it dries, but the best brand of hot rod black is from TCP Global its called hot rod flatz, they have like 30 or so colors, and pretty reasonable priced!

Thats “at home?” Its tough striking a balance between creating compelling titles that work with the algorithm, and “keeping it real”. That very pro booth might not be what people envision when they read “paint at home” though. Good work nonetheless.

Yes its at home. It is a home built booth. Its made from reclaimed plywood and 2x4s covered in sheet rock mud and painted white Not a professional booth . Do you need this to paint a car, No but it sure makes it easy lol

Good video i have a 97 ford escort wagon thinking metal flake roof with satin black on the rest looking for a nice satin sheen what would you recommend ad far as brand i also just subscribed

Thats a great idea, that should look awesome. Since your going that route I would probably black base coat the whole car then shoot a coat of flat clear on it. Then wait a couple days tape the lower half up and wet sand the top with 600 lightly then do your color for your flake then flake it then put gloss clear over the flake.

I've applied similar stuff several times and it feels grainy once dried. I'm a first time 2k user. I think from watching this I've probably been dry spraying and not had my fluid open enough.

Some of it holds up pretty good, you have to find one that has a UV protection in it . Thats the key.

@@ACDesignsGarage oh Wow thank you so much had so many times no one answered so thank you so so much, every time I put clear on after my fuel tank has been repainted it seems to run soft if I put a little weight on it leaves marks there and if I manage to spill a little fuel on it petrol it wrecks it?? I even noticed after painting a panel in plastic the paint still seems a soft osh after painting with primer then matt black 2 or 3 days later feels fine but if pushed with a finger nail still seems smooth-ish.
