Not much of a climber but on the dozen or so times I travelled by car from coast to coast I’ve loved traveling through the Rocky, Appalachian, Poconos but by far my favorite are the numerous mountain ranges in Alaska. While living there I remember how each year as we approached December 21st the sun barely touched the top of the mountains for less than 15 minutes and was then back to complete darkness again with the Northern Lights dancing playfully on top. Yes it was 40-60 degrees below zero during that time but that’s what windows and sunroofs are for. I loved Mother Natures beautiful show nearly every night.

Thank you for the great tutorial. You make it look so easy. I'm going to give this one a try. I LOVE the mountains. I've climbed Mt. Rainier, Mt. Whitney and a bunch of 14ers in Colorado. I've sketched a lot of the mountains that I've climbed and now would like to paint them. Thank you again. ...keep being awesome!

I've climbed Mt. Katahdin in Maine which is so rugged and rocky, with a knife edge on top. I've never painted it, but now, having seen your video I'll try it with more a lot more ease. Thank you for this lesson!

This is a super helpful tutorial and so glad I found it. You took a difficult subject to convey and broke it down step by step. I noticed a huge difference in my painting after watching this. Thank you so much!

What seems like years ago, I climbed Mt Whitney, Mt Langley and White Mount, all three exceed 14,000 feet. Now I am gifted with water from Cold Mountain , North Carolina with which I have been requested to paint a mountain. I will be using your tutorial to help me.

This is SUCH a beautiful tutorial, you've made it look so easy❤️ I'm one of those people who really love painting but aren't sure if they're pretty good at it, and you've made me want to start right away!

Now THIS is a useful tutorial. So many videos are being put up where we just follow along with the instructor while some distracting music is played along in the background. Not one word is spoken; we're expected to devine the what and why of what the instructor is doing. Keep up the good work. Your videos are very useful.

I’m with you. I don’t like those kind of videos. If I just wanted to watch them paint, sure but I’m trying to learn cuz I have no idea what I’m doing on my own so I need a real tutorial with explanations and words.

I love this! I checked it out because I am trying to paint Long's Peak, a 14K that my late husband and I attempted to climb several times. I could only get to 12K because of altitude sickness, but that was an accomplishment. That was a few decades ago. I am new to watercolor painting, and I wanted to do Long's Peak. Not happy with my first effort, but will try again. I will look at more of your videos because I like your method.

II haven’t gone UP a mountain without a ski lift since high school, and even then it was more of a hike than a climb. Love Colorado around Monte Vista in the summer time.

Love the monochromatic mountain! I did some mountain climbing at Harper's Ferry, WV. The mountain was tunneled for the train to ride through. To the left of the tunnel is an old sign painted on the face of the rock. I climbed just to the left of the sign. 😀

Love the video. Only mountain I've ever climbed was Cuilcagh Mountain in Cavan, Ireland. Did it for spina bifida. Can't do it any more as - ironicaly - spinal injuries prevent me even walking up steep hills. Hopefully in the future I'll get back to it. # emailsquad
