I definitely recommend heat setting after it dries. I steciled mandalas on a pair of very light jeans and they pretty much disappeared when the jeans were washed. I KNEW about heat setting, but unfortunately I forgot to do it. Wahh Wahh Wahhh..... :/

Why don't you use Pixie Spray on the stencils when you paint on fabric? I found it stuck the stencil very well and the edges were crisp and looked good. No bleeding at all. Thanks for the info on heat setting after the tote bag is done, I don't want it to wash out right away!

Hi!! Check out our stencil basics video! There are a few things that go into this. Dome shaped brush, good acrylic paint (thicker not watery), offload your brush after putting paint on it, then swirling lightly. You’ll do several layers. For a tote bag, is acrylic paint ok to use on it’s own or would it be better to mix it with the fabric medium?
