Amazing work as always. Looking forward to the leather tutorial as well. Do you usually paint the leather equipment first like you did here. Its a really great idea. I really like how you keep your paint pallet so simple. So many other great figure painters mixed multiple different colors to make one shade of paint.
@jaumeortiz47673 жыл бұрын
Hi Shawn!...yes, in this case I painted leather first. It helps to identify the camouflage zones better. I try always to keep my pallet simple, specially when painting camouflage. Vallejo has a wide range of colors suitable for every part of your figure, and they are mixed already, so, no need to make complicated mixes for painting.

Hello Dasguero! We appreciate your feedback, but we know that musical tastes can be quite subjective. So, unfortunately, we cannot always please everyone's music preferences. We consider the painting process to be the most important element in a video but we love feedback, so... What free copyright music would you recommend we include in the next videos? Fantastic work. I just want to ask one question. Like the spring and summer camouflage pattern painting in the video, do you use the brown and black wash for the autumn and winter plane tree camo? I have a dark green, dark brown and black vallejo wash thanks for the nice 1/35 video. b^오^b

Your paintjob looks great, but the dark colour of the spring/summer version of plane tree is wrong. It should be black/green instead of black/brown which would be correct for the autumn version.
@jaumeortiz47672 жыл бұрын
Hi there!. Although black green is the common shade for the third main color in German spring version camos, if you look at the reference image you'll notice the darker blotches are more black brown color. That's why I used it, trying to match the example colors.. Thanks for your comment.

Hello RRL4245! Each artist paints in very different conditions so you must add retarders or thinner in case you need it (warmer temperatures or low humidity - summer). If this happens, you can add a drop of Medium Retarder to the colors :)

I like this video because what I am seeing in this video covers some of the paints / colors and techniques that would be used to paint Pea Dot camouflage (for Warlord Games - Bolt Action - Panzer Grenadiers - autumn 1944 / winter 1944 - 1945), even though this video appears to be about some other type of camouflage (Plantermuster - 1943?). It seams like the Waffen SS wore a different camouflage patterns / colors for every year of the war: they re-used colors to some extent.
@vallejocolors3 жыл бұрын
This camo pattern had two different variations: spring and autumn :)
@ieatoutoften8723 жыл бұрын
I am replying to my own comment with spelling corrections, German to English translations, a date correction, and a Wikipedia reference that lists most (maybe all) of the German camouflage patterns with colored photos. --- Platanenmuster is the German concatenation of the words "Plane Tree pattern" which was mostly used from 1937-1942. Erbsenmuster is the German concatenation of the words "Pea Dot pattern" which was mostly used from 1944-1945 (I think as early as May 1944 to the end of the war on 8 May 1945.) See the following link for other types of camouflage that the Waffen SS might have worn. And sometimes they would "mix and match" camouflage pieces: trousers, tunics, ponchos, and helmut covers. Reference en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_World_War_II_camouflage_patterns ---End of comment.
