Painting is much like sailing, we cannot change the wind but we can adjust the sails. Often times you have to move in the direction the painting wants to go in order to create something beautiful. It's about letting the painting be, become what it can become. Sometimes we find our true direction in the waves of change. And eventually, when we become good, we can start using any wind to go in any direction. Love the tiny sailboat fighting in the waves. A smooth sea never made a skilled sailor.

Awesome video! My 4-year-old daughter and I watched this right before we painted our own acrylic on a huge plywood. We took some of your ideas but also infused it with our own. I have been painting beach sunsets since I was 10 but this is the first time I actually watched a tutorial and tried to do it with that much planning and less randomness in the waves. I'd say we did pretty good but of course your is the best!

i just used nylon and synthetic brushes.. i have no specific brands.. you can see it at the first part of the video... just use the same size like small, medium and large flat nylon brushes and of course the liner brush also.

Beautiful....like always. I love how you paint your foam rolling into ""wet" sand. Painters forget or don't know that it's already wet, except maybe at high tide. Your colors are gorgeous and magical, yet real. Great job!

bro you took two and a half hours to paint this masterpiece and it is 16x20. I took 15 hours that is 5 hours for three days to paint a 18x24 and still did not completed my A.Level piece . but Cambridge still gave it a B. John were was this back in 2011 but better late than never because this could have been heaven. John love you bro🇹🇹
