Its incredible what a huge difference a good teacher/tutorial can make. A couple days ago I watched another artist give a tree tutorial and by the end of the day I was in tears thinking maybe I just dont have "it" maybe I just dont have the natural talent to be an artist. But after watching this video I've busted out a few trees today that I'm really proud of. Thanks for reigniting my fire for painting chuck. You're my hero ❤

I love the choices of outdoor scenes that you do and how you are very good at explaining exactly what colors you use and what brushes. Your attention to detail really makes all the difference between a good painting and a great painting. Thanks so much for the lessons.

This is exactly what I'm looking to paint for my new book cover! It's an historical romance (1850's) about loggers from Ireland. Ponderosa Pines are all over Oregon. And I'll have Mt. McLoughlin in the background and a river for transporting the timber. But do you have videos showing how to paint the rest of it--background pines, mountains, sun/sky and river? Thanks!

For all artists, Michaels is having a contest and you paint or sculpt artwork depicting your favorite season of the year. You must upload a picture of your work by midnight on August 26 and they pick a winner September 1. The prize is a 10.000 dollar art supply shopping spree!
@icywinterwind12477 жыл бұрын
Chuck could win this EASILY

I appreciate that so much. You are way too kind! Thanks for sharing as well, what an opportunity for artists. :) I wish I could enter this, but all my work is currently licensed out and it looks like the entries need to be free of that.

I have never found a brush that I could get fine lines with like you are doing in the bark. I can not make a fine line. I don’t know if my touch is to hard or I am putting to much paint in my brush or it is not thin enough. I just don’t know and it is frustrating

How long can you leave acrylic paint on a pallet and be able to reactivate it? Or can you reactivate it similar to watercolor because it's a water base paint?
@chuckblackart7 жыл бұрын
+Vic101able about an hour max and no not on the canvas. It dries too fast

I learn so much from you I really wish i could meet you to thank you in person. I am back watching this one for the forth time, as I pick up parts of it as I need them and learn more when motivated with a project.I’m painting a 100+ year old stone house, my home, and my partner’s mother’s home, a treasure in the family so. no one ever painted it but i am and need to put three giant pines looming over it. It is a sort of ‘arts and crafts’ style house. I’ll put a link to if when i’m done. you my main man are a true inspiration. I love your style. you are a light!
