Hey nice job! You got me painting my whole ultramarine army this way! Can you pleeeeease make a video with how you painted your ultramarines?

Yes! It was such a joy to batch paint through my intercessors using this technique considering I was running 30 in my list at the time. I'll definitely put in more painting videos into the queue thank you.

Why is it that you prefer synthetic brushes for contrast paints over natural brushes? I haven't heard that warning before, and a quick low-effort Google search didn't show me anything obvious.

It’s something I’ve discovered over my painting experience but specifically kolinsky or natural hairs just really get wrecked by washes, contrasts, etc pretty much anything that clogs the ferrule. See what works for you, but I’ve wrecked enough brushes to hopefully try and spare anyone else from the trial and error!

this is a great way to make them metallic, thanks for sharing. Can you also add edge highlighting to them or does that ruin the metallic effect.
@BlackRabbitGaming3 жыл бұрын
You most certainly can edge highlight if you want but I find it isn't necessary since if you apply the technique nice and smooth, it creates natural light highlights any way. Fair warning, you have to find the perfect complimentary color to edge high light with. ie, using grey knights steel for tallasar blue was even a bit too stark for my liking.
