Thank you for this video. I did a painting with another tutorial and completely messed up the water. I covered over my bad water with light blue and used this tutorial, I'm happy with the outcome of my painting now. I have a problem though going from the bottom up (bigger to smaller) and am going to try again going from the top down. I also found it easier for me to make the smaller, lighter lines with minimal paint on tip of my fan brush. I seem to have a heavy hand. Keep up the good work.

That’s brill. I am happy you rescued your painting. There are loads of wave tutorials now on the channel if you fancy trying another scene. As it’s always the same tricks. Fan brushes are great for the bobbly waves 🌊 and flat headed brushes are fantastic for straight lines like the waves at the top. That might make it even easier. Here is a playlist with loads of tutorials. Hope it helps. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mZqYmop6nalsbLc

Your videos are superb , so easy to follow and the instructions are clear , concise with just enough information with no overload. Well done, the same classes would cost a fortune at an art school. Many thanks .

Awesome! Thank you! Just what i needed to solve a "glitch" in an "impressionistic" rendering of a beach piece 😄 i had started with the sea too dark...i love acrylics cuz i can paint over and over and over anything that is not "right", suiting me... (getting past the desire/need to be "perfect") Thank you for your generous service of sharing your skills, talent, and tips. Makes the world a more joyous place, eh? To expand success of painters, even us beginners 😄💖💕💕🌈🏞🌊🏞🌊🌈🏝

You are very welcome. The great thing about acrylics is you can just dry them with a hairdryer. What I do is use a dry canvas and a dry soft brush, hardly any paint and glaze areas to create light or shadows. SO if you paint an area to dark. Dry it and glaze it over the top in a lighter tone. Good luck with your beach.

Thank you so much. exactly what I needed to do a painting from some great pics I took. The blue in my pics is greenish, so I will experiment, but with your technique. Bless you.

You can do it with any colours. I do the same trick with all my seascapes.

Thank you so much for this video. I was really really looking for tutoring for making water more realistic. Moreover I thought that water is always done in oils. I am going to try this soon. Thank you so much again
@MSTEWARTPAINTINGS3 жыл бұрын
No worries. You can actually paint the same painting in oils. You can always dry the base coat. Then mix the three tones and blend them on top.

My paints don’t seem to spread as easily as yours do, did you face this issue when you were a beginner? I’m using liquitex basica & a good quality rolled canvas.. any insights?
@nicolealana775 Жыл бұрын
You could add a gel medium into your paints to help them spread, or add a bit more water! Usually when they don't spread it is because they are a bit too dry :)
