You have no idea how ON TIME this vid is. I sat outside this nail salon this morning for almost 20 minutes waiting on them to open. They do great work but NEVER open on time. I said THAT'S IT! I'm no going to keep doing this. ALL because I cannot polish my natural nails. Welp, today is the day I learn!!! TY Ms. Gabby. ❤

Thank you for this!! I've always done my own nails and while people say they look nice, I know they're done by an amateur 😅 I've never paid attention much to shaping, so the nail clipper + the type of nail file grit is something I needed! Thanks!

What tips/tricks do you use when painting your nails??

Open the windows for ventilation, but not on hot, humid days bc then it takes longer to dry! Especially if doing nail art with the Makart barriers - they lose their stick when I start to sweat.

Acetone gives me an instant migraine if I use it inside, so I only remove my nail polish out on the patio, then come in to wash and start the rest of the manicure. I tend to smash my right index fingernail on laundry baskets, so often have to reinforce thin spots with tiny wisps of cotton ball embedded into my base coat, which works great. I even use plain lacquer base coat to fill dips by doing a thick layer and then holding my finger upside down until it firms much like one would do for gel. I usually have slightly longer (not actually long) nails and find that doing a layer or two of thin base coat under the nail keeps them so much longer, and I can use a light color for extra cheer if I feel like it. I even made a dollar-store clear base coat into a very thin milky under-nail option for when I'm feeling grumpy about any yellowing.

I basically paint my nails just like you Gabby. Lately though I have been leaving my nails au natural. The only tip I can recommend is to buy a little fan to help the drying process out a bit. That way you’re not waiting so long in between coats. I do love the Sally Hensen Insta-Dri line of nail polishes. Great colour pay off (you don’t need as many coats) and it dries pretty quickly too. Love that colour you chose! I’m also interested in the Blue Cross cuticle remover. I’ve been using the Sally Hensen one for years but it’s a small bottle and I run out quickly. Great tutorial!
