I've been doing COIN Magic for about 2 years now. Also read Bobo's Modern Coin Magic and watched hundreds of videos BUT I was never aware of the advanced classic palm. Thank you and I will practice and use.
@Othmarius4 жыл бұрын
Pls note, it's what I made out of it in my hands, there are of course many explanations on this technique out there usually referring to it as the classic palm with the distinction sometimes made sometimes not.

The way you explain this is so great. Haha I enjoy the coin practice.

thanks for explaining that it takes time to build up the muscles. I am brand new to coin magic (any kind of magic really) and it is difficult to get this technique to look at all natural right now, especially with a flat hand. thanks. I'll keep at it.
@Othmarius4 жыл бұрын
Flattening the hand while palming the coin is a good way of practicing but it's not the practice goal!!! All you need to achieve is to hold a loose and natural "empty" hand, natural in the sense of like you would hold your hand without having something in its palm! I mean, you're not walking the streets with flat out hand in front of you?? That would be weird! :)

Great tutorial! I have problems with the coins slipping out of my palm. Any suggestions how to control this?
@Cyberkalvin14 жыл бұрын
In my opinion, perhaps I've seen a lot of videos and read a few books about coin magic, there a little tiny awesome point that I love in your video and haven't found anywhere else. I've practiced Balloons Twisting and I have a strong thumb muscle, and that's why my classic palm gets difficult, cause on this part (thumb muscle) it forms a Convexity, which pushes the coin. Then my "most comfortable" position is closest to my fingers. But... the way you explained revealed like "there are no" unique way. I mean, sometimes you do your "classic" palm between thumb muscle and finger, sometimes you need to press a little bit (according what you need to do). I mean, I do appreciate your explanation (also your drops, they also taught me a lot). Thanks.

In the end you gotta make it work in your hands for the purpose you wanna use it. You might even never need, what I call advanced, you know.

I'm gonna use this for switching between fingerstyle and picking while playing bass guitar. Super useful, thanks!

You might want to consider learning something classy and still in use like the 3 fly from other sources than from youtube.

How operational is your thumb in technique two?
@Othmarius4 жыл бұрын
You can get you hand to be almost fully funktional for holding a glas or even shuffle a deck of cards for example. Increase your practice time by practicing on the go :)

@@emmchen1101 No, you don't. It takes practice to hold the coin and move your fingers freely. The hand is never completely flat though. More like in a relaxed open position. & Thx for the flowers 🙂

Anyone here after reading American Gods?

@darrenmalbut84996 жыл бұрын
Hi@@Othmarius , the main character in the book (and the TV series I guess, although I haven't seen it yet) was in jail for three years and he taught himself coin tricks from a book he found in order to pass the time. Different types of palm trick get mentioned a lot and so I got inquisitive enough to have a look and a try, haha. I've not finished the book yet, but it's good so far! Ooh, meant to say thanks for the video as well!

I am reading American Gods (by Neil Gaiman), which prompted me to search "palming coins" and came upon this video clip.

Does a quarter or half dollar coin work or does it have to be a palming coin?
@nyrosmith5 жыл бұрын
Just try different coins and see what works best for you. There is no right answer to this questions as it depends on the size of your hand. You can also try to palm other objects as bottle caps and other round items. I usually go with Half dollars as they fit best for me. But I also try various european coins as they are more familiar to my audience

Is it possible to palm in between finger and palm?
@Othmarius7 жыл бұрын
Here is the one big secret: Whatever works in your hands. There are so many different palming techniques out there, you wont believe it. However the classic ones are worth tackling, because they stood the test of time. They simply work. So take them on, master them and man your hands will take off from there.
