A drop of detergent or ezi-wet solution etc. would be a bonus in the pan. The surface tension problem would disappear. Soil wetting agents at Bunnings come in all varieties.
@WalnLiz8 жыл бұрын
+Myles Nicholas ...Agree with you there Myles and it certainly would be a good idea when panning out volume from a Highbanker clean out, in a flour gold area. For general prospecting where one can easily go through a couple hundred pans a day it wouldn't that feasible. Take care...Wal.

hi great video very informative i have yet to start prospecting but am very keen,is there any where in Sydney that i could get a basic set up equipment and also not asking for any specific secret spot but is there a region close to sydney that produces gold and or gems?
@WalnLiz7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching Paul. A basic set of sieves ( 1/4" and 1/8" ),and a gold pan can be purchased from Miners Den in Parramatta, or you could get them on line from outlets such as Detecta Den at Batemans Bay who very often do extremely good deals. The Oberon region is the closest to you for both gold and Gemstones. The Turon River around Sofala is a great starting point for gold and Little River not far from Black Springs will get you some very good Sapphires. A great place to practice your gold panning is also at Oallen Forde on the Shoalhaven as this spot has a guarantee of fine gold in every pan. It's only a 2 hour drive from Sydney as well. Good luck with it....Cheers Wal.

I was soo shocked when wal dumped the gold! I dunno he was sweet being a teacher or an overconfident man! did u guys get it all back plus the new stuff? there were a few flecks on your fingers and one on the back of your hand liz. what do u do with it next?
@WalnLiz8 жыл бұрын
+chubbu28 ...Thanks for watching and your concerns chubba. We retrieved "ALL" the gold and weighed it to make sure when we got home. The few specs of flour gold lost are so insignificant that they are impossible to weigh on even the best scales on the market. We've been doing this for over 50 years, and over that length of time ones confidence in technique grows to a point that panning becomes second nature. Double panning soon tells you if your making errors, or going too fast. We rely on volume panning to achieve our results and in doing so have been well rewarded over time. We use the gold we find in our jewellery creations. Hope all's great over your way....Cheers Wal.
