On the task #5 the G-10 they seem to be referring to seems to be the row under the G-10 in the A12 cell. It would explain wanting a total for all the numbers in each cell. My guess anyhow. I'm hoping to pass a similar test in the am, so thank you for this,

Hi there! Thanks for this video, it was very helpful. The instruction 5, that you said was confusing, it was actually talking about A13 (G-10 is the name of the product in row A, line 13) create a total below that line, which you did right, but just skipped a line. It got me confused as well to start off with but then I noticed the name inside that cell and it all made sense! Hope this helps! Xx

Wow, this is way easier than any other Excel test I've seen on the internet. The whole thing would have taken me 90 seconds tops. Probably not a good test to determine if you know anything beyond basic Excel knowledge.

If you want to pass the test, don't use any shortcut keys. Use the menu on top.

+Chris Mcquade While technically true, a lot of places don't want you using the short cuts. It seems silly to me, but I know of a few people who have been told this when they've done testing for excel and other programs.

I can confirm this. Microsoft testing does NOT reward you for shortcuts. They want you to do it their way, not whichever way is fastest. They want the actual text book method. Using shortcuts will end up in a failing grade for any MS certification.

You can disagree all you want. The title of this is how to pass an Excel test. If this is an actual, official Microsoft certification exam, shortcuts will only get you a failing grade. They want a test candidate to follow the text book method. While practical us is obviously different, but for true testing purposes, text book method is all that matters.

Question 5 refers to "G10" which is actually in position A12 on the spreadsheet, "Create a row under G10 and label it as Total" although, I do agree with you it's a badly set question. Also, I noticed you missed Question 6 which asks you to "Calculate the total revenue for each quarter" I sure hope you didn't miss out on questions in the real Excel Test.

schoolofbookkeeping - I was wondering if you could tell me how to set a row of cells to 1 particular Font and size. For example font calibri and size 11. So if I copy some texts with different fonts and sizes and paste it to these cells. It automatically sets the texts to calibri font and size 11.

I just took a test for a bilingual secretary job, I did pass the Spanish part with high score but failed the excel test, lol learned my lesson. Learning excel is such a piece of cake, try learning another language in a couple of weeks!!

i need help i know how to do basic simple formulas but i need to make a formula that automatically calculates total price for any amount of units placed in c12 my formula needs to be in c13 but... the units are not in just number the unit column says 1 to 10 and colomun beside says 20 then 11 to 19 next column 18 so if i type the nimber 5 in c12 i need it to give me the price im not sure how to do this please help

Just took a basic knowledge excel 2010 test tonight for work. Failed. Not allowed to use any keyboard short-cuts, functions have to be manually entered(cant use the function button), and every question it asks if you are sure of your answer.

I got a question cuz for me i failed my exam with a 69.7 only 1 more question to pass but the reason why i failed is when i skipped 2 question and submitted it and the question IDK which is "use shape to add vertical scroll" and i was in insert then shape for 30 minute trying to find vertical scroll and i couldn't any helps? and the 2nd following question would say input the text that give me into vertical scroll i forgot what it was and i skipped it which i coulda passed bruh i am still tryna figure how to do it cuz tomorrow imma retake the exam

It's "B" 14, the cell reference for quarter 1's total revenue.
