What was the hardest part about CFA level 2 for you? For me it was working full time while studying and of course derivatives!!😭

I just failed Level II for the fourth time using Kaplan Schweser. I am a CPA with two MBA degrees and am not close to figuring out this game. Leave each exam feeling I passed and am shocked to learn I failed.

Hi, I'm sorry to hear about your level 2 exam results. I can imagine it is frustrating for you to go through the exams. I know what you mean in terms of figuring out the "game" it is not always easy to understand the exams so don't beat yourself up for not passing. I would say having 2 MBA degrees and CPA is impressive and you should be proud of earning them! If you're looking to retake the exam - reflect on what worked and helped you pass the CPA exams, while they are different exams, much of the strategy and standardized testing principles can carry over to the CFA. Sending you my best and let me know if you have any other questions on your exam journey :)

Hi Sarah, please share your timetable for L2 and how you juggle working full time and study? Also do you meditate every morning?😊

@SarahSivan 9 ай бұрын
Hi! I discuss the timetable a little bit in this video and also in my mock exams video if you want to take a look. Let me know if you have any specific questions on my schedule etc. and yes, I do practice meditations..can post a few on my channel :)

Hello Sarah, I have reviewed the syllabus for L2 once but I actually don't retain most of the concepts now. I thought of reading the material again but I think it will be the same story all over again, I am thinking of learning by doing CFAI portal candidate resources questions they are like 1500+ so is this a good strategy like doing all the questions of a subject and work on all the questions where I went wrong rather than reading the material again & are the candidate resources enough for preparations for clearing the exam? Attempting Aug 2024 Thank you so much for your help until now
@SarahSivan
@SarahSivan 7 ай бұрын
Hi! The candidate resources should be able to help you retain your knowledge of the readings better so it’s a good idea to incorporate them into your study plan as a complement to the reading materials if you didn’t understand something. If you have gaps in your knowledge rereading the material may help alongside the candidate resources. Best of luck for august in your exam!! 🙏

similarities : 1)CFA resources 2)calculator that you use is the same 3) ethics remains the same Differences : 1)Content is more deeper 2)a lot more analytical thinking 3)different format. level 1 has single questions. level 2 is case based 4)time to study is a lot more 5)motivation- see with end goal,she used meditation

Hi Sarah. I just wanted to know how does the difficulty of level II exam questions compare with the portal questions and mocks?
@SarahSivan
@SarahSivan Жыл бұрын
Hi Mohammad! From my experience, the level of difficulty was very close to the questions you may see on the portal and mock exams (will try to talk about this more in upcoming videos) wishing you the best of luck for your CFA exam, you got this! 🙏🤗

Thanks alot Sarah. Just one more question regarding Fixed Income. Do they actually ask to calibrate the interest rate tree in the exam, and then we have to solve further problems or it's usually given? Because we normally use Excel to calibrate the tree, and doing it on the exam manually will consume a lot of time.
@SarahSivan
@SarahSivan Жыл бұрын
@@mohammadmeeran977 Hi Mohammad, sure happy to help!! I’d focus on knowing how to calculate the rates at different nodes on the tree and the how to perform valuations by analyzing information provided in the item sets and tree. But from my experience, the exam will typically not ask questions that require extensive calculations (even with calculator use) that would be too time consuming. Let me know if you have any other questions and good luck!!! 🙏

Hey ! So you are saying that it is possible to pass the level 1 by just reading the books provided by the CFA website ? and of course doing mock exams.... But so it is possible ? I am taking it in November... in 6 months 😅
@SarahSivan
@SarahSivan Жыл бұрын
Hi Mario! Passing level 1 depends on many factors, but from my experience using the official Cfa books and resources (including question banks and mock exams etc) should generally be sufficient in terms of study materials to prepare to pass the exam. Sending you the best of luck for your November exam, you got this !!🙏☺️
