This is my study guide for students looking to PASS Step 2 of the USMLE as quickly as possible and outlines a 2-3 month schedule that mostly uses UWorld, NBME practice tests and KZbin videos. As a Canadian medical resident physician, working full time, I needed to come up with a plan to pass one of the hardest exams in medicine in as sort a time as possible and while balancing other commitments as well... and I'm confident in saying that for me, this was what worked best! The Step 2 exam builds on concepts that were introduced first with the MCAT and then followed up by Step 1. My plan is very closely related to how I prepared for the Step 1 exam. This is a free / non-sponsored video designed only to help other students. If you have any questions about the exam or how to prepare, please feel free to leave a comment below :)

I'm a South African resident who is busy with these exams - I have watched everything on youtube, and your channel is by far and away the most practical and useful advice out there. I appreciate it!

Thank you so much for this video! I'm just about to start a Canadian residency and am kicking myself for not writing the USMLE as I'm starting to explore the process to moving to the states. Encouraging to hear that 3 months is needed to pass :) Cheers man and continue the great work!

I've been feeling very very very terrified of Step 2 because I felt burnt out after Step 1 so I couldn't start studying right away and now I have like 3 months. It's honestly a very hard exam, it made me laugh at how poorly written my country's licensing exam is and it's one hell of a journey but your calm demeaner is honestly very helpful. I am aiming to score high lol but if you could study this exam and pass it while working full time then I have no excuse since I'm not working and can dedicate 10+ hours everyday in Sha Allah. Feeling super overwhelmed but there is not much to it, we just have to put in the hard work. I hope everyone that is giving this exam do well!

You are 100% right my friend 💪 the exam is a lot harder than most people make it seem - especially for people that did not train with a US based curriculum. But if you study hard, give it time and focus on working through your practice tests, you will do well. Best of luck!

Any recommendations on when Canadian trained graduates like yourself should write this exam? I have heard that studying using Step 2 resources is helpful when writing MCCQE Canadian exam? Is writing this exam during the fourth year more ideal?

I would 100% advise Canadian students to write at the end of their final year - preferably BEFORE they write the MCCQE 1 :) The general consensus is that if you're a Canadian graduate and pass the USMLE Step 2, then you'll do amazing on the MCC exam... but it doesn't work the other way around for most people I've spoken with😅
