You are a excellent instructor , and you have a simple application in guiding and administrating the air brake systems. I really have a greater understanding and comprehension knowledge of the update vs. outdated Brake chambers components. Wow , my confidence at a 100% I have a class B endorsement and I had it for nearly 30 years , I definitely remember those old Brake chambers . I am up grading my license to Class A .Thank you so much for educating me , and everyone who is interested in taking the air brake test .

Unfortunately, the people in charge of the government curriculum are bureaucrats, not teachers. Rather than empowering drivers with information that essential, bureaucrats are more concerned with liability and covering their proverbial "asses" if something goes wrong. Hi AndyRojen - Apologies for the late response. Thank you for your comment. And you are most welcome. I don't have it posted any where as of yet my friend. Love the content. Just passed my class 1 written and trying to get a class 1 before the new laws come into effect in manitoba. Its hard to get in for a road test. What are your thoughts on that new law?
@smartdrivetest5 жыл бұрын
Hi Devon Sinder - Thank you for your comment. And congratulations on passing your learner's permit. It will be interesting to see what happens with he laws; however, it will probably go the way of the new laws in Ontario. To fulfill the minimum training time, driving schools put students in a classroom. My thinking is that you can't learn to drive a truck in a classroom. We're happy to hear we could help out. If there is anything further we can do, drop us a note. Always happy to help. All the best, Cheers Rick

Now my question, someone posted this on facebook. Is this test about being qualified to adjust brakes? I have a card saying I am certified to adjust air brakes.
@smartdrivetest7 жыл бұрын
Hi Sandra - thanks for your comment and question. Some provinces and states require that you take an additional course to adjust brakes fitted with manual slack adjusters. See this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oZ_FmJmrmaiNeZo However, most of the information for air brakes here on the channel is about qualifying to drive a vehicle fitted with air brakes. If there is anything further we can do, drop us a note. Always happy to help. All the best, Cheers Rick

Smart Drive Test when you do pre inspection, do you do outside first or the incab test?
@smartdrivetest4 жыл бұрын
Under the hood- (passenger, driver); inside the cab; front of the truck and around the truck in counter-clock-wise direction; under the truck and trailer; apply brakes, remove chocks; and do brake test. Drop us a note if we can help further. All the best, Cheers Rick

Do I need to test the hand brake as part of the pretrip inspection?
@smartdrivetest7 жыл бұрын
Hi Darlene - thank you for your query. Are you talking about the parking/emergency brake. If so, yes, you have to test the brakes as one of the last components of your pre-trip inspection. See this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qH69qJmchax0n7M All the best, Cheers Rick

I am being taught to drain ALL reservoirs on the tractor for the pretrip inspection. Is this wrong?
@smartdrivetest7 жыл бұрын
Hi Darlene - thank you for your comment and query. Draining all the air tanks isn't wrong - just a preference of the instructor. And for the purposes of the test--in theory--all air tanks must be drained every day. If there is anything further we can do, drop us a note. Always happy to help. All the best, Cheers Rick
