Amazing. We received a fine to our old UK address that was finally diverted to our new house....struggled to pay the fine and thought it would be the max but was just the 50.00 and appears to now have been resolved. Couldn't have done it without your help!

I received a fine for going through a redlight in Alicante, Denia....i was handed the fine blue and yellow copy from police in blue uniform....cant seem to figure out how to pay this i dont have the a4 fine you have i was also in a hire car ....i live in the UK...any help would be appreciated...

@@rudes001 try this number [phone], i am afraid we haven't used it for a while a we are in Spain but around a year ago a client of ours used this number successfully, hope that helps

Should have been a downloadable receipt if not then you would need to call 060 to check payment. As long as you have the proof of the monies being paid out of the back then you should be fine

I had some issues myself ( I´m a Portuguese national) and had to use the passport option because the NIE is only for people living in Spain all others just passing through need to use the passport option

Are you putting the full amount In before the discount for early payment this is deducted in the end

Hi Chris, I was on vacation renting from Avis and got a fine, so I don't have the document of the fine. They only sent me the penalty number and date/time. I don't know the amount of the fine. I tried calling 060 but they only speak Spanish. Any thoughts on how I can pay it?

They are legally obliged to give you the full details of the fine and a scan of the document I would go back to AVIS and ask them for the document

How do you pay if the fine is too old (8 months, haven't been in Spain since then) and the fine has moved on to the Tax authorities? Can't pay anymore at the DGT internet site.

Can be difficult once the fine has expired because it falls into the "embargo" process and is out of the DGTs hands

@@Upsticks I went to the tax office, they printed out an "invoice" and I went to the bank to pay it. The debt increased from the original 100 EUR to 110 EUR. So now it's solved.

@@Upsticks I hadn't been in my apartment for six months, so I found the DGT fine in my mail box. The routine seems to be that the fine, when unpaid, goes to the tax office for collection and eventually it's taken out of one's bank account, probably with extra fees.
