In 2020, I took out personal and mortgage loans for my brothers because they were stuck in a loan trap. I paid almost 80% of my salary every month on EMI. During that time, I always had negative thoughts. I constantly worried about who would handle the loan and release the mortgaged property if something happened to me. I was scared to talk with people. I decided to close the loans as soon as possible and save more money for a better future. I upskilled myself, changed jobs, and cleared all the loans by the end of October 2023. Now, I am saving almost 70% of my salary.

Main bhi abhi 1.5(aaj ka outstanding amount) lakh ke debt mein hun. Sab kuch accha chal raha tha par is January se sab kuch bigad gya. Jan se July Tak kisi tarah EMI pay kar raha hun. Mahine ka 30-32 thousand per month (sab mila ke) jaa raha hai. As a delivery boy main 15-16 thousand kamata hun (after deducting bike maintenance and fuel cost- nahin to week ka 5000 aram se ata hai). Ghar par baki log bhi kaam karte hein isliye wo groceries ka dekh lete hein. Bhai bhi delivery boy ka job karta hai to wo 7k deta hai, dost 5k aur side se aur baki kahin se jugaad kar mahine ka EMI pay karta hun. Bas aur 5 months uske baad se planning kar hi loan lunga(agar jarurat padi to nahin to nahhin) Pichli baar bhi fully planning thi par galti ye hui ki backup soch kar nahin rakha tha. Is baar wo galti se seekh mili hai.

when salary comes i do 3 things 1) give money to my mother (80% or more) 2) daily expenses for 1 month (15%) 3) save money (5%) for any emergency. i never upgrade to credit card as it will build in my mind that i have money but in reality its not.

Never pay EMIs more than 30% of your monthly income. I took loan for renovation of my home and for my marriage. The emi i was paying was 50% of my salary, as a bachelor i was able to pay that much. But right after I got married, I had to buy appliances and stuff. My emi amount shot up to 70% of my salary. Now. I'm in a debt trap. If we stay focused and follow this rule of 50% for needs 30% for wants and 20% for savings then, we will definitely survive.

Best practices for credit cards usage: Never ever pay minimum amount, always make sure that the complete statement is settled by the due date. Use credit cards for necessities: Bill payments, recharges, rent payments, fuel etc. A good fuel credit card is a very powerful tool. Never ever buy consumables until absolutely necessary!!! Don't use credit card seeing the offers, use it for your needs. Offers will come and go, but your loan will never go.

I have also taken loan from m pokket and spent all on eating . It all started with a loan of 500 and reached to 8000 gradually . But now i'm happy because only Rs.500 loan is left to repay and all other repaid . It's a trap i understood soon otherwise today i will be behind the bars or repaying loan . Now i will think 1000 times before taking loan and my answer will be always no . Such a good video spreading awarness about the loan trap/matrix .
