How long do they last?
@NovaKnowsBeauty
@NovaKnowsBeauty 3 жыл бұрын
They *can* last until you're ready to remove them (just like acrylics) but it really depends on a lot of factors, natural nail prep being a big one.

I love forms because I’m old and pretty much that’s all there was if you wanted decent looking nails. Honestly even pro tips in the old days made you look like you had lego crazy glued (cause that’s what we used) to the end of your fingers

I’m a full novice and bought one of their kits a couple of weeks ago! Now I’m practicing like a boss so that I won’t feel embarrassed of my hands when I go out of the house, lol! Thank you SO MUCH for doing this kit and for being as welcoming and informative as you are 💖

Awesome, thank you so much! Be soooo careful with that e-file! If you have to practice on yourself, make sure you have a good layer of product on your nail to work on until you get the hang of it. There's a channel called Nail Cou that just did a great e-file course and I think she posted it on her channel. Might be really useful for you! 💜

I'm SO glad I came across your channel!!! 🥰🧡💖💛.. I've always LOVED the way dual forms make the nail look when I pop them off but the ONE time I used them ALl my nails were lifting/or cracking within a few days later which I was SUPER upset abt bc I took a LONG time shaping them & encapsulating loose glitters & different stuff (butterflies etc) yet my first set i EVER did in was with some tips that I had from rite aid or somewhere maybe Sally's but it was a box of coffin shaped tips and I used glue to adhere them and did all my prep work correctly after watching only a MILLION AND ONE videos on it & the set lasted me for almost 6 wks & I've been getting my nails done since I was 15, I'm 31. NEVERRRR have I even been able to go the full 2 weeks without at LEAST one lifting or one or two super glued back on til I could make it back to the salon. No matter who did them or where I went so I just figured I was a "problem lifter". Now I have 3 kids, a 2, 3 & 12 yr old so my hands are CONSTANTLY in water, getting banged off stuff, dishes, cleaning, bathes, just busy and I NEVER had an issue (besides when 2 cracked on me right at the cuticle but I think I got afraid of flooding it and barely added any polygel so it was my fault). But yes I'm SO glad I finally decided to treat myself & give it a try bc I RARELY have extra money and as much as I'd LOVEEEE more colors and gems and designs and all that I just can't afford it with my husband on disability & me losing my job with covid. You are so talented & helpful i can't wait to watch more of ur videos. I've only been doing my nails for about 6 months but that isn't that long considering they last over a month almost 2 lol ... I think I've done 3 maybe 4 sets so far. I just love it and am so happy I'll NEVER have to walk into a salon again & overpay, get rushed, talked about , OVERCHARGED SMH, & STILL TIP! & half the time I leave with something I didn't even want or don't like bc they rushed. Smh just rude & so glad I can take hours if I want to perfect my set and how I want them. I go back and forth between stiletto but an active length (not super long or even that long at all really) and I also don't like them super pointy. And the almond shape (some call it oval but I feel like almond is a mix between stiletto and oval) I just think it's so classy looking. I do have a channel but it isnt the best 😳😂😩 & I barely have time to shower or sleep with my babies let alone sit down in a nice quiet spot for a decent amount of time, record, edit and upload a video esp since I do everything myself all from my phone. It's a pain and takes HOURSSSS lol. Right now my channel is mainly reviewing colored contacts (one of my passions) but I really want to start expanding my content and recording my nail sets, makeup (another huge passion of mine) & now nails too lol. Hair, dupes, I just have so many ideas I write them all down but just can't find the time to get around to recording them lol smh. Anyway sorry for the super long comment! Oh! & if u don't already have one maybe u can make a video on how to file/shape what i mentioned. I really struggle with that once my polygels on its always looking lumpy or or little dents, if I look straight down the nail one side seems higher than the other no matter how much I file.. I end up making them pretty thick bc I also don't want them cracking off after all that work lol. Another trick i learned (wondering if you've heard of of it) I put my tips on with base coat now and then cure them that way instead of glue and they stay on just as good if not better and most ppl who review nails ALWAYS have a bottle (or 5 lol) of base coat laying around. Anyway glad I found your channel & I'll be looking forward to some more videos.!! 💖💙💜💋 stay safe, stay blessed 💗

Oh my gosh, thank you so much!!! Girl, I totally understand everything you said! Also, it sounds like you could benefit from using a primer, probably acid based (there's acid and non-acid primers, and the acid kind are stronger). Annnd, my next video is actually going to be filing & shaping! 😁 I wanted to have it posted today, but I've been insanely busy this week. But yeah that'll be the next one so if you're subscribed, turn on those notifications so you can watch it! 😁😘 PS: If you have any particular questions/concerns with filing and shaping, let me know and I'll be sure to add it in the video if I haven't already covered it.

@@NovaKnowsBeauty thank u for responding! I actually use the Young nails protein bond as I've heard its the best but its non acid... so maybe I should go back to using the one I originally started with from Sally's lol thats when they lasted the longest come to think about it. I believe that one was non acid as well though. The woman at the counter told me the difference & said I should use non acid since I have weak/thin/damaged nail beds .. so.. 😕🤷🏻‍♀️ but I'll be watching for your filing and shaping video!!! 🥰💗

I stopped doing polygel because I was really struggling with the underside and the big globs joined to my skin it was awful!! Wondering what I can do to remedy this-will clips help? Or different dual forms?
@NovaKnowsBeauty
@NovaKnowsBeauty 3 жыл бұрын
That's why I personally like to sculpt and then I can use a file and buffer to smooth the surface. BUT as for using dual forms and getting a smoother underside: Clips definitely help hold the nail in place so that you can smooth the underneath with your brush before curing. You can also glue on nail tips or even use a sculpting form to help the underside be smooth!

I personally hate tips because of the time it takes to match tips with people’s nail shape like no I’m just gonna pop this form on build the nail accordingly and move on lol and you can get more shapes with forms, the actual freedom. Like an edge nail, can’t really get that with tips.

How do you remove polygel nails?
@NovaKnowsBeauty
@NovaKnowsBeauty 3 жыл бұрын
There are 2 different types, so it depends. A lot are soak off, so you can just soak them in acetone until they dissolve like acrylics. Others need to be filed away. I'm going to be doing a video on it going into detail. If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask!

It's okay because too much can be filed away and doesn't affect the end result, as opposed to using too little. Thanks for dropping some serious knowledge that's useful to others though!

I wouldn't call that click bait as it wasn't about the design & the pink set was done with the featured kit, AND I also mention at the beginning that the pictured nails wouldn't be in this video. Clickbait is to get people to watch through the bulk of the video. I was honest about it upfront.
