How to Permanently Turn Off Compatibility Mode in Microsoft Word

Yes! Over the weekend my documents ALL OF A SUDDEN switched to "Compatibility mode". It was driving me nuts because I'm trying to finish an assignment. I don't have the patience to keep "converting" them from Compatibility mode and wanted a permanent solution. So far I don't see "Compatibility mode" when opening a new doc (it still shows for docs that were already created). But still, Thank you! 😭

It worked! Thanks! I was getting annoyed having to convert documents all the time because starting a new file was always in compatibility mode.
