How to personalize a Dollar Tree flameless (LED) Candle

This is great thank you! For a no burn real candle, scoop out 1.5-2" depth and width at top of candle where the wick is. Warm up a spoon and rub around area to smooth it out and pop in an led tea light.

My granddaughter is getting married July 2022 on a budget after 7 years of university. I saw someone on facebook personalise a wax candle. Just this morning she reposted and I asked the question; any advice on doing it on a flameless candle and low and behold I though type into utube. Your video was the first one to appear. FYI If you want to keep from burning a pillar candle down, here's an idea. When you burn one down a bit there should be a little round opening by the wick which should fit one of those little battery tea lights. Let the candle cool before you put it in or you won't be able to remove it. Big candles will last a very long time. Love your video!

Teresa Branham I think it would work on the LED candle because the heat didn't need to be as high of a heat as I needed when I did it using a regular candle.

YES!! I'm so glad you think it'll work!! I'm in the process of making a mason jar lamp from your tutorial either last year or the year before and so far so good. I forgot that I needed to drill a hole in the jar and painted it first using chalk paint but I can repaint the jar if needed or I'll just go to Walmart and get another jar, it was less then $2. I'm hoping to have the hole done this weekend so wish me luck!!! Thank you Kelly for all the great DIYs and inspiration you give not only me but a lot of other people, your AMAZING AND SO CREATIVE!!! I wanted to let you know that DT carries the replacement batteries for those LED candles in a 2 pack. I just got some the other day. When you printed the pictures onto the tissue paper was it on a regular printer? I have an HP printer.

Teresa Branham yes I just used a regular inkjet Canon printer nothing special! LOL I think I must own stock in those batteries I have so many of them! I tried changing the battery on that candle and it's just a dud 😞 kind of a bummer!

thanks for the amazing vid. I had the same idea and was looking for a how to and here you were! Just a heads up. Micheals craft store has higher end flameless wax candles and the wax is very thick. I am going to make mine on those for permanent gifts. But will probably learn on the dollar store ones first lol

Kelly I put fresh batteries in one of my flameless candles and had to turn the battery until it came on. Maybe that's what you need to do to the one that doesn't work. I have had to do this to several types of items that take those flat batteries.

I make these all the time, they will come out flawless if you use a heat tool with a low setting. I also stamp images onto the tissue paper, different inks from printers may affect the end results. Mine have no ripples or bad places at all. I believe the trick is using the lowest setting on the heat tool and continuously moving it over the image.

Kelly, I found that I needed to take that tiny screw out that holds the battery in place and then pull the protective paper off the battery. Then replace the screw. Could you do a diy on how to apply vinyl to a wax candle. I am having a difficult time getting the vinyl to stick to the wax. I am going to try the heat method tonight. If it works I will send you a picture of my candle. Thank you. I love your channel so much.

JENNIFER WAGONER please let me know how it goes! In my experience of making these, in melting the wax paper when you see that wet finish go across the picture make sure that it goes past the picture. Hope you have better luck with it tomorrow

You can take a tea candle, let it burn and as the wax melts, take a brush and dip it in the wax and esperad it on the flame less candle, where it got burn

In this video Kelly you showed two different flameless candles. Did you get both of them from the Dollar Tree? If not, where did you get the other one that didn't melt like the one from the Dollar Tree? And if you got them both from the Dollar Tree...what do we need to look for so that we have less likelihood of that happening?

Hello... I did get them both at the dollar tree, the difference was just one was cream in color and one was white! I think i jut picked a bad led candle and i should of checked it before i left the dollar tree!!! :-( I think if you hold the heat source farther away so it doesn't get to hot it should be fine that was what i did on the cream colored led and it worked out BEAUTIFULLY!!!
