How to photograph kingfishers. Tips and tricks. WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHY II Bird photography

In this revised version, I show how to attract the kingfisher so that it is easier to photograph it. In other words, there will be some tips and tricks as well as some film and pictures. The camera I used is Nikon Z6II and Sigma 800mm f / 5.6 and Nikon 200-500mm. Hope you get inspiration to go out and take photos yourself.

Hey Mike. Thank you so much for your kind comment. 🙏😀. I always shoot manually and with autoiso. Then, if necessary, I control the light with the exposure control, but mostly I just change the aperture and time. I always try to have a fast shutter speed as it is better to have a sharp photo than a blurry one. If the bird is sitting still, I can go down to 1/500, but if it dives or flies, never below 1/4000 sec. Depending on the lens and light, so rather faster than slower. The hide is old and is no longer sold by Jula, so unfortunately I can't help you. Have a great time👍

Lovely video thank you. I have a stream nearby shaded by trees that lets beams of sun light through. A pair of kingfishers fly just above surface of the water and create blue lighting strikes as they speed past. They are so fast I have never seen the birds only the flash, which is amazing.

I just went out this morning for the kingfisher which is living in the royal parc where I live in the Netherlands. It is only open to the public for two months. My favorite stick was removed! I don't know if they allow me to put a new stick myself...

It was sad to hear but think of it as helping the bird to get food more easily so put up a stick.
