Great video. We shot them last night in Laksvatn. 4 hour show from nature. Incredible experience

Easily the best video I've seen for aurora planning. I've never had the opportunity to head towards a pole for better views, so interesting to hear your comment on the usefulness of the KP index. I never head out for aurora under KP5 being at 36° S, but makes total sense that it is far less relevant the closer to the poles you get.

Great information - really appreciate the overview on the Aurora app! North Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota had some incredible displays last summer - not as intense as what you’re viewing, but absolutely stunning. Definitely take these tips into the next outing.

Glad you appreciated! I've seen the aurora up in Washington and Montana as well, but it's definitely worth traveling farther north because they just get better the closer you go!

Very helpful - thanks for the video and app suggestion
I have a question regarding he gear, Do you still recommend the Sony 14mm f 1.8 over the new Sigma 14mm f1.4?

I haven't tried the new Sigma, but the Sony lens is optically perfect, AND half the weight, so for me that's a no brainer.

I’m planning to go to Tromso for the first time. Appreciate if you can drop me those locations you shoot the aurora there?

I’m surprised that clouds were not mentioned in this video.

How can I scout where the best place to go for a particular night will be? If I’m in one area, but a different area has really good conditions, how can I use the app to know where to go?
