Great video thank you, beautiful colours. I do get stuck in the anxiety stage even though the curiosity is trying to push through it, I have intended to start a sketchbook dedicated to colour mixing/swatching but keep putting it off for some weird reasons, so thanks for the prompt to lead with curiosity instead of anxiety, hopefully my brain will actually act on that message sooner or later 😂

So glad to find your KZbin! I’ve been so scared to use those fluorescent brights (due to the facts they they fade in sunlight)but I love them so! How do you handle this?

I would like to know this too. I was so upset to find out that I wouldn't be able to use fluorescents if I ever wanted to try selling my work, so I've stopped using them altogether because it would be so upsetting to have to refrain from using them in future!! UV varnish might help but still only seems to extend the time some, not to a satisfactory level if selling your work!

www.gillianhanceyart.com/post/is-longevity-important Many artists are not overly concerned with longevity. Think about the sand artist who makes beautiful images that are washed away by the tide. I found the article above articulates what I feel really well, and to be honest we live in a world with such limited attention that the art we sell will most likely be replaced by something “new and shiny” in time anyways. In 22 years of selling thousands of paintings (I painted with student grade paints in the beginning) I’ve only had one person (a close friend) ask if I could touch up a painting that had started to craze in the background. A quick sand back and a new application of background paint and it was good as new after 20 years on the wall in a sun lit room. Another friend who is well established and known in Australian art circles paints mostly on unfolded boxes (medication, RAT test boxes etc). She uses a variety of materials and although most of them would be long lasting perhaps her substrates will not….anyways food for thought ❤️
