How to pick a main class in WoW Dragonflight

I love this kind of videos. I've been playing since 2012 and I don't need this kind of advice anymore, but I always click on videos like these just to see what perspective people have on this matter. Afterall WoW does not have to be competitive. It's a fantasy game so pick what you think looks cool and have at it! Remember to bring some friends to WoW and if you can't convince any, make friends in game! I hope new players stumble upon this.

I think it's a lot easier once you fully understand the game and know how each class works. Never had a hard time picking a class because I know what I like, and that's only because how long I've played the game. 1. I don't like caster classes with no mobility 2. I don't like classes with no filler ability in the rotation 3. I don't like having to think too much about your resource (mana/focus etc) 4. I don't like feeling weak, it doesn't have to be the meta, but if the class is unreasonably weak, that's a deal breaker 5. Should be relatively easy to learn, but should also be noticeable when you're good at it 6. Give me some defensives ffs (low key directed towards blizzard) For the record, I main devestation evoker. It's casting class, but has the mobility of a hunter with more skill involved. Mana is never a problem, the damage feels heavy & impactful, nice filler spell, it's easy to learn & hard to master. Perfect class for me :)

This video helps me a lot, moslty from a hearth perspective, i always love to see and know others points of view, to enter in the head of the other player, and feels what they feel, when he see, his alts, his main. Great video. I’m returning to WoW after not playing since 2014. I leveled my paladin as Ret with intention of healing as Holy and I did some dungeons and raid finder and really didn’t enjoy the way it plays now. I’m currently leveling up my priest now as Shadow and to try healing, I liked Holy better than disc back in the day but I will see what I like.

It took me a long time to figure this one out. It mostly boils down to how the class feels to play, and what I feel like doing at the time. I ended up going through one of every single one and playing it to end game for a few hours before I actually got an idea of what I wanted to do. It ultimately led me to have one class for each particular role I wanted to play. All happened after cat/bear druids died in MoP after the old spec tree was gutted and reworked the first time around. Happy to see this one pop up in my recommended feed. If you're still reading, and you're curious what I came up with, I'll list them in order of most favorite to least favorite in their corresponding roles: Melee DPS: outlaw rogue Tank: blood DK Ranged DPS: arcane mage Healer: restoration shaman

I started playing WoW at the end of WoD, and always played Mage (Frost/Fire) i got a bit boring of only play DPS, and as a Solo player, que times are sometimes hard. So i switched my main to a DK, i love the Tank spec, also i got an easy, and a more complex DPS spec if i wanna play DPS. I currently catch up the old expension Stuff on my DK, and its just so much fun for me! Keep up the Great Videos mate!

I tend to play tank and I am most comfortable on protection warrior. I can start a patch or expansion on another tank but I alway go back to old reliable, it just feels right.

Yes! wait for the pvp brawl: comp stomp. Its an Arathi Basin where you play against ai. Its a guaranteed win and if you are like me and have a bunch of alts, you can just complete 1 match on each character and get a bunch of honor and marks of honor which you then use to buy different pvp transmog sets. In that week i usually get around 120 mark of honors which is like 10 different sets.

I am in your same situation except for alt I main paladin (picked because I love ret and prot) and for alt I always switch between shaman mage lock and shadow

My problem with WoW is that none of the classes hit the fantasy I want. I really wish there was a class or even a spec that was a sort of Spellblade that combines 2h physical damage with arcane - like an Arcane Knight (or Eldritch Knight from DnD) if you will. If there was something like that, I would main that class and never look back. Arms Warrior has the 2h swordsman vibe going for it, but it is only physical damage - no spells. Death Knight on the other hand has a large focus on spell abilities, but it is way too deep in the whole undeath, ghouls, necromantic dark energy thing, which puts me off of it. Similarly, Demon Hunter has the whole fighter thing with spells but it is mainly fel magic, and I am not that big of a fan of fel and demons. Ugh, it is so frustrating, as I love the game and the world it is set in. I wish I could have my perfect main and just focus on doing all the content (both new and old) on that one character, but right now, I just can't, because what I want doesn't exist. So I currently level all the classes that I find somewhat interesting just to fill up my roster and primarily main my Subtlety Rogue, as it is a fantasy I can get behind, yet still leaves quite a bit to be desired. Oh well. :/ Maybe one day.

Why not enchancement shaman? not only its a melee magic class, its also melee/range hybrid with spells. Sure its not exactly a knight but you can transmog

Tbh, I am new but never had alts in any MMO I have played. But I think I will just try to unlock the extra races and just make extra alts. I love dragons so an Evoker will always be my main. But it probably would be cool to just have an extra few alts and use races I unlocked for doing these achievements because you know it's more important to have a class you feel 100% conformable with instead of using the meta all the time. Like maybe 1% of any player base will achieve these extra points necessary. I am just a lucky guy I guess that I love dragons and Hermaeus Mora so in WoW I'm an Dractyr Evoker and in ESO I'm a Dark Elf that's an Arcanist. Oooh and I'm a DPS & Healer all the time so both of these classes I mention in these games can do both very good :)

I've been playing Ret Paladin for the last 18 years, since I was 5 (Other than the 8ish months I mained ele sham in Legion. At this point It's less of a "Which spec am I going to play this expansion/patch" and more of a "God I hope ret is good this expansion/patch"

Hey its me again, What class do you recommend for a returning player , i don’t know what class pick between hunter and mage i really like both but dont have time to play with them, im a casual player and like to do only m+ 15 not more, heroic raid and some world exploration etc.

I'm obligated to mention that you can play any spec and class and top the meters around that keylevel! But between hunter and mage? Hunter offers a really simple rotation in all of its spec (that can be a plus or negative, depends on your opinion) but has a really good utillity that can be useful in many different scenarios. Hunter also offers a second game to play with all of its pets and collecting them all if you are into that. Mage also offers great utillity now that they got reworked and has (in my opinion) a more skill variation in its different specs. Meaning that if you get tired of there simpler frost spec well then you could invest some time and practice into learing fire or arcane. I dont have the answer for you, only you do, but if i were you i would look at the class in its entirety. If you like 1/3 mage specs but all of the hunter specs, well then hunter might give you more playtime before it gets boring, or the other way around. hoped that helped

I picked the dumbest way possible: Always play as medic/healer/support so it had to be a heals, looked at them all but ultimately decided on priest cus cloth looked nicer for a heal :P

Also type love having mana issues to me like pkay class hit hard as result go oom but if careful mange my mana stay in fight played arcane kinda that for don't how it is now granted since shadowlands didn't know level 60 like challenge ramp up then hitting like truck actually like desto lock build soul shard go choas bolt:)

My problem with choosing main is I cant stand with one enough :P On the other hand, I don't like play alts becouse I have no time for this. When I playing mage I see all that warlock and I think "gosh, they are so cool" then I start to playing mage and after some time I see all those priests and I think "wow, priests are so cool" and I starting priest... Then I realize I prefer to play melee and start playing melle... then caster again. Gosh, It's so frustrating 😢😢

Compared to fury its quite on the slower end. Its similair to the difference in pace between mm hunter and bm hunter.

I hear what you're saying, but i will continue playing only frost mage 😅 Arcane is too big brained for me, and fire is a class fantasy im not a fan of. Loved mm and survival hunter last couple seasons, so i do try other stuff out from time to time, but ill always come back to the playstyle and class fantasy of frost mage 🫠
