Sometimes the simplest actions can create the biggest problems for a defense. The double drag screen (also knows as "77") has been utilized by the Dallas Mavericks, and other NBA teams to create easy scoring opportunities.
Understanding what to look for, and how the defense is most likely to guard this concept is the first step to having success. The second, is finding creative ways to get into 77, and tagging other concepts onto the Double Drag.

Utah's variations of 77 constitute witchcraft. Watching them play a single game takes me hours longer than it should because I have to rewatch so many possessions where I just can't keep up with their motion!

@@TheFilmRoom1 Yes, TikTok now supports long videos and you can monetize it. It supports a function where your followers can download the video and upload to their stories with the full length video as well.

would you combine the double drag + back screen set with a pindown for the back screener from the player who set the second drag? feel like having a slip is redundant there after the first screener dives for the lob.

Yep. If you watch the possession where Dallas ran it, the back screener was about to come off a downscreen but Luka hit the cutter.

@@TheFilmRoom1 This concept that @nmzhoops mentioned is exactly the variation that JJ Redick mentioned in episode 8 or 7 of their Mind The Game podcast!

if the primary and backup reads here are contained, the offense can get stagnant. You’ll be dribbling for 20 seconds finding something. That is a concern of mine with this concept.

They still have 14 seconds or more left in every clip, sometimes this is run to just get switches then iso. Wouldn’t say it’s any more stagnant than most sets.

You can literally say that with so many actions in basketball. If the offense doesn’t execute the action well, someone has to get a bucket at the end of the shot clock. Especially in the pro game, actions like these are to get a quick look-if the quick look doesn’t work, they make something happen
