You can change anytime before half term really (depending on schools obviously) I started with chem geog pol, swapped to biochem pol, then to pol econ bio, so yk… I had alot of catch up to do in half term but otherwise it wasn’t so bad.

I need your advice! I'm torn in what to do with my A-Levels which is made harder by not having a clear idea on what I want to at university. I am taking History, RE and Politics but I also have English Literature- the problem is, I don't know if English is right anymore. I am good at it, but after attempting bridging work I'm not 100% English will be right for me. I'm going to talk to my head of sixth form, and I have an EPQ as an alternative, but as I am a "high achiever" my school thinks I can do 3 A- Levels and an AS instead of just 3 A levels (because the system has changed). In addition, if I do AS English and decide to drop it, I have to study an additional book in my own time in order to sit the AS exam. Is it better to do 3 and an EPQ or do English? I love your videos btw ❤️😊
@Primrose_Kitten
@Primrose_Kitten 8 жыл бұрын
+Kiera Cozzer do you need the AS for the course you want at uni? Lit is a facilitating subject so is well respected! An EPQ looks good on application forms but shouldn't take time away from your studies. Would studying an extra book be so hard? (I LOVE books)

I don't know if you have a video on or addressed this issue prior, but I'm really intrigued as to what you think about taking 4 A levels as opposed to 3 ( a big choice as most of mine can't be dropped after an AS as they're now linear). Thank you ! :)

+maditalksclothes I plan to do history, English literature, French and Psychology ( physics if I get a good maths grade as I adore the topic but am not a fan of complex maths ). Psychology doesn't require as much effort I think Physics would and I don't feel bad if I was advised to drop it. If I do get the Physics grade I'm worried the other intense A levels would mean I kinda prioritise them and get AABB rather than A*A*A* if I took less ?

+TheArtIsAllMine having 3 A*'s is much greatly admired I'd say, I'd take the consideration of Chemistry over physics - as its one of the core subj that Unis think are solid.

+TheArtIsAllMine this is an excellent question!!! I'm afraid I don't have a good answer as you are one of the first years to see the change, we don't really know how universities are going to respond, but my gut says 3 good ones rather than 4 OK ones.

Hi there, I'd just like to ask. Im on a solid A* in chemistry and the exams for chemistry went really well for me and I also enjoy it. However I've been told so many awful things about the A Level which is really putting me off. I love it at GCSE but that doesn't necessarily mean I'll enjoy the A Level course because it might be too difficult for me to handle and I'm just so worried :( if I have to drop chemistry it also changes my whole career path because I was thinking of pharmacology or food science. Thanks for your advice :)

Look at some alevel chemistry videos and see what you think about the subject. I'm on the same boat as you I'm pretty certain I'll get an a* in chemistry gcse however after seeing some alevel topics such as electronic configuration and bonding it's hard to wrap my head around because some things change (gcse is really simplified so alevel seems complicated) so I'm planning to change it for law (but I'll also have maths, further maths and physics)

Hi I'm going to college to do 4 a-levels . Geography is my favourite subject and in my GCSEs I got an A in it so I'm definitely going to do that as I love it so much and I'm also going to do English literature because I love reading and enjoyed GCSE English , although I know it'll be a step up . I want to do another 2 alevels but I can't decided on one of them because i know I want to do and try and work towards a career in geography but I don't know what subjects will be good for it . If I want to be a geography teacher i don't know what other subjects would be good to take . Any advice I would be grateful for . X

+Chemistry and Physics by Primrose Kitten . Thank you so much for the helpful advice ! So do you think since I've picked 2 solid subjects it's ok to pick two other ones that are less solid or will universities look down upon my decision if I do that ? I was going to pick religious studies as one because in school I enjoyed the subject Humanities and this may have similar elements to the course . I also assume religious studies has some elements of physics as the course says we learn about the way the earth may have been created via the Big Bang and all the physics theories to how we have planet earth etc so I think it'll be enjoyable and contains some science and I took triple science at GCSE so I feel as though it'll be a course I'll enjoy and find interesting with a range of elements to it . Is it classed as a soft subject though :(?
