If any one can help, I've been getting all confused about what wheel I should buy. People keep saying different things. What I'm looking for is too learn street skating (I'm kinda new to skating btw) but the roads and sidewalks I travel on have a fair amount of cracks. idk if I need hard small wheels with a high durometer for tricks, or slightly larger wheels with a low durometer to deal with the bumps/cracks. long story short, what do u recommend for street skating and tricks with a bit of rough terrain involved so I don't hit a like a crack or rock and like wipeout? thx

To save you time regarding new wheels. 54mm wheels are ideal for vert. It’s amazing how big a difference a few mm can make! In the end. It’s about personal preference anyway.

lol none of the 52mm wheels ive had could roll over anything but perfect concrete. just go as big as you possibly can without risers for street. as for vert, smaller wheels are faster because they would cover less ground for one revolution, meaning you could make 5 metres for 4 on a 60mm wheel. plus, they have smaller contact patches without losing grip = less wheel friction = faster. also get mushier wheels for street, they work better for pretty much everything but blunt and tail slides.

I have 63 mm wheels that are 97A. the added weight definitely makes kickflips more difficult but it gives me an edge in some areas. I have a little 1/8 riser pad so I don't get wheel bite. Not to state the obvious, but doing the tricks correctly is more important than wheel size. you can do most larger wheel tricks with small ones and vice versa there are no laws against bombing hills with small wheels or doing handrails with big ones.

This bois cool. I’m getting some huge 56mm spitfire formula fours but I usually ride 50mm too and then ride them on street till they are a bearing holder. I’m going to do that with these bigger wheels so I can have them last longer I just upped my board size and put risers on so no wheel bite happens. Once they get down to about 52-53 mm then I’ll take off the risers. Then my board will probably break and then I’ll go back down a size and the keep skating them till there is nothing there. That’s what I’ve been doing for the past 5 years. I don’t like skateparks I’m a all street skater so this might feel weird for me at first but I get used to things real easily. These wheels last me for around 6 months with 50mm imagine 56mm that’s what I’m trying to test out. To see if they’ll last more than a year.
