As a newbie in baking without any baking course background, watching online tutorials is very helpful for me. Anyway, greetings from the Netherlands!

Hello, all your cakes are really nice. I will make a cake with your first ruffle technique, but I would like to know if I can make this technique in a cake one day before of the event. I am using Swiss meringue buttercream with butter. Thank you!
@kellyfairbairn93333 жыл бұрын
These look beautiful. I struggle piping buttercream as the bag always gets warm in my hand and starts to melt. I end up having two bags, one in the fridge and one I'm using and swapping them over every 5 minutes
@CakesbyLynz3 жыл бұрын
Hi Kelly, Thank you so much. It can be so hard when the buttercream gets too warm. I would suggest just adding really small amounts of buttercream at a time. The piping bags I use are great as you can't add a huge amount of buttercream like some bags, but I find this perfect and it doesn't heat up too much before I've used it. I can then just refill the bag with fresh buttercream.

Thank you very much for this tutorial. My personal choise is the first ruffle 🥰 Is this the only buttercream what will hold? Most of the people I bake for don't like the grindy american buttercream.
@CakesbyLynz3 жыл бұрын
Hi Bianca, You are so welcome. I really like the first one too, I think it looks like a ruffled tutu. In regards to the buttercream I only tend to use American buttercream, but other buttercream will also work. You just need it to be a buttercream that keeps its shape once its been piped.
@toneybraswell74172 жыл бұрын
Hi Lynz, Can I do white/ pink ruffles? What I mean, by adding white frosting on one side of my piping bag and pink on the other side, in the same piping bag. I do that a lot when I do cupcakes but the ruffles are a bit more intimidating. What do you think?
@CakesbyLynz2 жыл бұрын
I think that would look do pretty with the 2 tone buttercream, definitely!

Hi, I'm so pleased the video is what you have been looking for. You could definitely do similar with royal icing, but you would need it to be really thick so it keeps its shape once you've piped them.

Hello, in the meanwhile I have only the 104. May I try all the styles with it or does the second one need the 124 to look effective?
@CakesbyLynz3 жыл бұрын
Hi Kim, You can definitely use the 104 piping tip for all 3. the only difference is the ruffle will be slightly shorter, but there really isn't much difference in the size. Any petal tip with the tear drip shape can be used for all 3. I hope you enjoy trying them out.
