How to pitch a concrete floor to a trench drain

Here we are pouring a garage floor with a trench drain. I will show you how to get the concrete at the proper angle so the water will flow into the drain. These drains work great but check your area before installing one because some building inspectors won't allow these drains.

Looks easy, haha. That detail stuff really makes the difference in the end, after all you get to live with it forever! I've seen where the boneheads sloped the entry inward to the door instead of to the outside, now that was a good idea! Never hire a drunk to pour concrete, haha.

What are you thoughts on this? Pouring a pole barn. Rebar & PEX @ 1.5' grid. Thinking of adding a 1" foam layer -- but sorta leaving a 1' gap or so between 4'x8' panels (so some of concrete on foam (for insulation) and a foot in between directly on compacted crushed rock layer. Is that a REAL BAD idea??? Anybody try this?

I have never poured a Garage with a trench drain in it !! Its either an 8x8 or no drain at all !! And I have poured a lot of garage floors !! And we always used a 2x4 for the 1 1/2 lip at the garage door ,,,very rarely did we not have a lip !

The trench drains work awesome. Much better than a square or round drain. Im sure the 2x4 works good at the door as well. Thanks.
