Hello, Could I use a simple handheld gps device on a pole to get the required coordinates like a Garmin eTrex® SE GPS Handheld Navigator or a RTK GNSS Survey Equipment with Rover Handheld GPS for Surveying then upload these files to Mapping software?

It depends on the accuracy of your device. If Garmin or another RTK equipment has a cm-level accuracy, you can collect GCPs with a cm-level accuracy and export the project to mapping software. Most of such software should support CSV files, which is a popular extension in surveying.

This is very clear. But when I am using an Emlid RS2+ as my Base Station and my drone as a rover, do I have to move the base station wherever I want to put a GCP?

Hi! There are two general rules. They should be allocated evenly in the area where you survey. For example, if you use 5 points, set per one for each corner and the last in the center of the area. And they must not be on the same line.

Can you have the rs2+ as a base and shoot your gcps with another rs2+ as the rover? Not sure if this is what you meant on the video. Thanks!

Hello! I have a doubt: when you are measuring in this way and you're working in UTM projections, you have a difference between the GNSS coordinates and the local coordinates, like measurements from Total Station. Shouldnt the GNSS be calibrated to real/local system using 4 or more Total Station points to get the REAL distances? How to make GNSS and Total Stations coordinates to be the "same"?

Hi there! At the moment, you can do only points stakeout via ReachView, but you can use 3rd-party apps for your task. Reach receivers easily integrated with them on Android by using the mock location feature. Here is our guide on how to do it: docs.emlid.com/reachrs2/common/tutorials/mock-location/. Hi there! 3 ground control points is a minimum for a reasonably accurate survey, but enough quantity of GCPs mostly depends on the site area. Usually, it's 5-10 points.
