Please keep these coming. So helpful and refreshing. Thanks to you we scaled back from 2-3 frustrating hours to 1 or even less K-1. Everyone is happier and learning better. I love that you are planning on the kids helping with meals when the baby comes. I feel guilty when giving chores thanks to where I live. But you help so much!

Thank you! I am just starting out. I have noticed myself trying to power through, but felt compelled to continue. “I want to feel competent as a homeschooler” is a wonderful articulation that will help me so much! Slow and steady is so hard when others are constantly evaluating. It is so helpful to have it articulated that my role is to hover and assess. This was wonderfully encouraging!

We've got three kids, my wife has always stayed home with them and as of last year I work from home now too. We sent our eldest to Kindergarten fully expecting that we'd be doing just standard public school for their education. As the year went on, we started wondering if home school might be a better choice for us, and now we've committed to doing that next year. As a family just starting out, me and my wife both have found your content very helpful, so thank you for taking the time to put it out into the world.

Homeschooling is definitely on the rise! I hear of so many choosing this way of educating and truly the rewards are great when it comes to raising your kids and you will reap the benfits for your entire life, no matter why you choose to do it! Fabulous advice. It kills me to see people plan a whole year or even several months in advance. I have a special needs upcoming 6th grader and six weeks is the max I will plan out and even that is fairly loose where I spend Sundays making a detailed plan for the upcoming week. I look forward to your life skills video.

I wish I would of had this mindset years ago! We are approaching year 10 of homeschooling and expecting baby #8! I feel like I’ve done a pretty good job of giving my kids skills, but it has taken so much out of ME. If we had just simplified and slowed down on all the goal setting I think my children and myself would have enjoyed our journey more. I’m so excited to start this year off differently and really embrace adding another child into our home instead of cramming more and more into our workload. You are a blessing and a woman of wisdom! Baby 8 how exciting ! I am preparing my kids for baby 6 by teaching my older boys to cool breakfasts and simple dinners, the workload can increase so much when you have a newborn! As far as homeschooling i am taking time off from the time the baby is born (ill only dp school when i can) right through our summer holidays. To prepare for this we arent taking school holidays from may to october (due date)
