You can install airstairs in your PMDG aircraft options menu in the CDU. And FS2crew will configure the extension and retraction of it at the gate (providing you select the departture option on the config panel). Nice to see you back on the NGX.

Oh, I can assure you that it isn't a problem of tweaking, it is outdated hardware. FSX doesn't enjoy my 2.66 processor. I have applied that process already, but I thank you for the video and for the tip. Keep up the good work Froogle! :)

Hate to say it but you're going to have to read the introductory manual. Basically you donwload the scenery and then add it to the livery manager app. This is all covered in the overview/intro docs

Double check that both flight directors are on and everything else on your MCP is set properly. I think there might also be something about VNAV not engaging on the ground if there's a turn of a certain degree or greater after takeoff. If all else fails, it's not necessary to engage VNAV on the ground. In fact, I think with earlier FMC versions it's not even possible. So you could try engaging it at 400ft AGL as that appears to be fairly standard from what I hear.

If you are getting that after setting your route up before flying then the FMC is telling you that you don't have enough fuel for the trip.

My I ask. I looked up your specs. You are using i7 920 Overclocked. Your FPS are incredible. I have a i7 975. There are moments I get great FPS but others it drops, ESPECIALLY on approach. I would love to hear your graphic settings. I know you run a second computer to lighten the load, but do you have an idea how I can eliminate the drop of FPS on landing?

I'm running FSX with the acceleration pack (service pack 2). You will need to tweak the whole setup though to get it running nice - google for Kostas tweaking guide to FSX.

I've had it before, if it's not something critical to your flight then you can just ignore it and carry on - that is to say it shouldn't cause any FS2Crew issues. It does seem to be picky about the CDU preflight - make sure you've done it thoroughly according to the FCOM and/or tutorial flights!

You have to manually deploy the stairs using the CDU, FS2Crew doesn't do it. Just thought that I would share that.

Love your videos man! your good at the FMC setups! just a question, so the PMDG includes everything to do with the aircraft, it sounds effects n everything, and the FS2 crew includes all the cabin n cockpit sounds and the voices through checklists of course. How much and where would you get Fs2 crew from? and i take it you need a fairly good computer.

Yeah it takes a HUGE amount of time to get competent on this, which is really as it should be given the realism claims PMDG make. For your frame rates Google "FSX Venetubo"

They are included with the aircraft in the 3000 pages of documentation supplied in PDF form. Alternately if you have an iPhone/iPad you can download my app tapCheck (it's free) and then get the NGX checklists in that (they cost 99 cents)

To preserve the life of the engine, and reduce maintenance time, engines are 'derated'. You don't need 100% power to take off. There is a fairly complex set of math involved in working it out based on the current air conditions, runway conditions, wind, runway length and load. This is what the topcat tool does for you. You are safe to just go with 45-50% in most cases though. Its just not very 'real' doing that.
