We've been busy shipping daylilies this spring, but thought we should take some time to answer some questions from customers about what to do once they receive their daylilies.
Daylilies are super hardy and easy to care for but if you are new to daylilies, you may have some questions about what to do when you receive your order.

FARM-FRESH TO YOU!
When it comes to daylily plants, bigger is better! All of the plants we ship will be three fans or larger - two or three times (or more) what you might receive from other companies. Larger plants get established faster and produce more blooms quicker.
All of your plants will be freshly dug when you order. The leaves are trimmed and the plants are washed and air-dried. Your daylilies will be out of the ground less than 48 hours before they’re headed your way.

I have a Daylily bed that I planted about 6 years ago when I first discovered Oakes. Unfortunately, this year - between late spring freezes, lots of rain and then 95 degree temps - it has been neglected a bit. I need to get after it and pull all the weeds that have invaded and generally just clean it up. I may need to divide a few of the more robust varieties. (WOO-HOO! More daylilies!) I plan to order some if your fertilizer to have on hand for next spring. Thanks for the information.

Can you plant them in grow bags?

We never have but that would make a good video! There's no reason why you couldn't. They can be planted in containers, so grow bags would work the same. Just keep them watered well and protect them from the cold in winter and they should be fine.

Yes! They look great together. We have some planted together at our house and they always stop traffic!
