Thank you for the step-by-step instructions. I started falling in love with agapanthus after watching several of your videos, then read about the care and growing of them. What a lovely surprise to check my phone notifications and see that you were going to show us the proper way to put them in the ground! Thanks to both of you! A Tennessee fan.💕

I've got a patch of these in my garden that I never watered or fertilized in the last 20 years. I never really appreciated their awesomeness until recently. They survived harsh Aussie heatwaves and the occasional frosts. I started to divide the largest clumps over a year ago. One clump once separated would fill a 3m x3m area easily.

They are amazing we are huge fans of them and they loved the heatwave this year in UK

I purchased some Peter Pan agapanthus and watered it too much and they died. This season I got blue fountain variety and this is what I needed to plant correctly. Thanks so much!

Lovely. Would love to plant my potted ones in the garden but didn’t think they could survive the winter in Germany. Is there anything particular that you do to help them during frost?
@gardenerscottageblakeney13162 жыл бұрын
We don't do anything with them over winter, but our winters are fairly mild in North Norfolk. How low do your temperature go down to in winter?
@marielm10992 жыл бұрын
@@gardenerscottageblakeney1316 I never imagined the possibility of them surviving outside during the winter but being in zone 8a, I should have similar conditions to you in Norfolk. So looking forward to planting them in the spring! Thank you for your content and engagement. ♥️

Be careful as one year we lost all our agapanthus in pots as we had a period f about 2 weeks of very cold 🥶 prolonged weather . The ones planted in the ground survived but most of those in pots died . We are in Norfolk in England in uk 🇬🇧 and our winters are usually fairly mild

Dear Mr blakeney, can you leave in England agaphanthus outdoors? I presume in Germany and hungary WE grow Them in pots and Bring them over Winter in a warm House: WE Sometimes have got Temperatures of -15 degrees Celsius or even colder. So you have Not so cold Temperatures in Winter? Which Temperature does agaphanthus cope with? With friendly regards - Katharina zwing

We have always left them outside but this year we sadly lost quite a few probably 80% of them, as temperatures got down to -15I believe. We have never lost them in these numbers before but we had a sustained cold period in Norfolk and they rotted off.

Hi could you please tell me if my agapanthas will die, i didnt know where to plant them so they soaked with roots in water for 2 weeks, will they now have root rot? They are planted in soil just today , they are still green, but im worried i wasted my time planting them.
@gardenerscottageblakeney1316 Жыл бұрын
Hopefully they will survive. I do things like this I currently have quite a few plants waiting to be planted out that are sat in water as Im struggling to find a gap. I usually get away with it. I would leave them planted now and hope they are ok.

How did your agapanthus get on ? Did they survive or did they rot off
@simsim59194 ай бұрын
@@gardenerscottageblakeney1316 hi , they survived, however over time they have shrunk in size but this I believe is due to the soil as its clay and I obviously did not improve the soil enough before planting, however they survived and flowered. Thankyou🙂
@gardenerscottageblakeney13164 ай бұрын
That’s good news they make benefit from a liquid feed or maybe even moving them to a better drained soil or as you say improving the soil
