That's lovely! The more bee food the better, all year round. I'd sow a lot of them too but I think my neighbours would hate me, haha. They'd like the flower stage but not the "weeds" that would get into their lawns and tidy yards. Not that I don't have many weeds anyway. Right now the dandylions are feeding the bees. So many people only grow tiles in their yards anymore and the early flowers really help.

Thank you for this video. A lot of time, people forget the importance of wildflowers.. Not only do the prevent erosion of the soil, but can beauty to the landscape. They also. Could foster, flavor enhancement to certain meals. Could be a part of preservation of certain types of meat.. And do all this, with minimum care.. If any.. I'm truly supportive of flowers that are native to the areas, where they are planted. I can see that you're one of the rare ones. Who has decided to make your homestead self proficient and beautiful. While its possible.. Many, is missing that key ingredient.. Self-Proficient.. Thank you for sharing.

I really enjoyed your video. The Isaiah verse is one I want to put on a a sign in my yard. My precious, recently deceased sister suggested it. Love your love for your wife and for the LORD. SO lovely. I live in Idaho not too far from Boise. A few years back I planted a wildflower mix in late fall. I still have flowers coming up from those. I recently moved about 30 miles down the road and have a much larger yard. I saved lots of seeds and plan to try sowing them late FALL this year.

Thanks for the videos. I have been growing edible plants and learned a lot from you. So far, I am seeing great results! I am in the San Francisco Bay Area, and am growing or plan on growing almost 60 varieties of plants. (Keep your fingers crossed for me!) I brought over the following starts to my mom who is in her eighties and is self-isolating out of an abundance of caution, She has been by herself for over a month now and just has a tiny patio, but it is enough for plants I grew or bought for her: Japanes cucumbers, cherry and big boy tomatoes, kumkuat tree, green onions, kale, napa cabbage, baby bok choy, celery, strawberries, beet greens, and lots of succulents. Much of them were started from kitchen scraps. Keeping the plants happy keeps her happy too. Did you ever do a video on your life stories? How did you two meet? It seems like you are so supportive of each other even while you are from different backgrounds. Hollis is a natural born teacher, and Nancy, you are ingenious with your filming and editing, and your food looks so delicious! I want to try your recipes. It is so inspiring to see you build each other up. Take care, and Happy Easter!

I live in Oklahoma, purchased a pound of wild flowers that grow in our area. My plans are to till up 2 rows one for wild flowers, and another with various zinna's with a polypropylene fabric in between as a test run. My plan, to make the area beautiful, and to get an understanding how difficult it will be to maintain. I have a solar powered electric fence I can put up if necessary to keep the critters out if necessary. We have a herd of deer that live on my property, and all kinds of raccoons. The last time I planted tulips, and zinnia's in my front yard. The raccoons dug up all the tulip bulbs, and ate them. They left the zinnia's alone, I'm not sure why....maybe they don't like there smell.

Everytime I see your intro segment, I want to say YES! The beautfyberry bush is so pretty that Nancy is holding. I just finished my jelly batches from the beautyberries I have growing wild in my yard. It is so good! I'm using a 100 year old recipe since no one makes it much anymore. Some have even told me it was toxic but it isn't. It just isn't commercially viable so many have forgottin that it used to be very valuable to homesteaders. I eat jelly every morning swirled into plain yogurt and topped with bran flakes - YUM!
