can you please share with us if you have information about how to multiply daffodils with seeds ?

Hi Ahmed, I've never grown daffs from seed but from what I know it's easy enough, just allow the flower to form a seed pod and harevst the seeds. It is a longer process though and can take up to 5 years for the seed to become a flowering plant. I'd give it a go though! 🙂

@balconiagarden!! Thanks a lot for the video. I have some questions about Narcissi tete e tete. When I buy some already blooming ones in flower pots around early sprint from flowershops, I see that the bulbs are placed almost at the top of soil, not covered with it. Are these forced bulbs to get the flowers bloom more quickly? Would it be possible to do so at home (e.g. keeping the buls in refrigerator around 8-9 weeks and then planting them on top soil)? And secondly, is it possible to plant temperature treated bulbs in the pots the next autumn? Thanks.

Hi Nazia, yes these bulbs you bought are most likely forced so they will bloom at specific times, in time for selling to customers at certain times throughout the season eg spring. You can definitely force bulbs at home, lot of people do it and planting on top of the soil is also fine. I would plant them densely on the soil surface for a fuller display. If you plant the temp treated bulbs in pots they might start to emerge quicker than expected but if the temps are low enough this will halt their growing and the bulbs will fall into a sort of half dormancy until the warmer spring weather comes. What I've found in all my years growing is that there are "rules and ways" of how to grow plants but often plants will do whatever they want and will surprise you! So if I'm not sure about something I just give it a go and I've almost always been pleasantly surprised by the plants' growth and how resilient they are! Plants are wonderful 💚💚🙂

Hi, I have a one Question if you can help me, you mention in the video leaving pots in the balcony. People who don’t have a balcony or shelter where can they leave the pots?🇬🇧

Hi Jagdish, if you don't have an outside space to leave the pots in try putting the pots in the coolest part of your home. Bulbs need to experience a cold period of a few months to properly flower and are also triggered into flowering by warmer temperatures (imitating spring) so just be aware the warmer the temps the quicker your daffs are going to start growing!

Hello, Kitty. I have a couple of questions that maybe you could help with. Would it be bad for the bulbs if you accidentally planted them upside down? Would you ever plant two different bulbs in the same pot? Are there any flowers that work well together? Thank you for another great video.

Hi Neil, thanks for your questions! Very good ones 👏 If you plant a bulb upside it will still grow upwards because plants perform something called geotrophism - a plant's growth in response to gravity. Shoots do negative geotrophism ie growing against gravity and roots do positive geotrophism as in they grow downwards following gravity. So even if you plant the bulbs upside down the shoots will still grow upwards 😀 as for growing differrnt bulbs together in one pot, of course you can! I have lots of bulbs in mixed pots but haven't filmed them, would you be interested in seeing that? I also did a tulips and Daffodils in One pot video, you can find in the the growing spring bulbs playlist. 🤩

@@balconiagarden You're so knowledgeable! And I'd love to see combinations of flowers, and hear the reasons you're pairing them together.

Ok will see if there's still time this year to post the videos 🤩
