Hi Dominic I’m new subscriber to your channel but just wanted to say hi from Canada 🇨🇦 where our growing season is short. I grow indoors using hydroponics and I can grow most of my veggies 365 days a year indoors with full spectrum grow lights but I also enjoy learning new ways to grow we never know when we may have an opportunity to grow outdoors. 🥰🇨🇦❤️🙏🏻 Hi from 🇨🇦 Canada 🇨🇦

@@orinadominic yes it’s incredible how we can reach others all around the world I love that aspect too! I live in an apartment building but I’m growing sweet peppers, cucumbers and all kinds of lettuce and tomatoes all indoors in water no soil at all. I germinate my seeds in paper towels or on grow mats. One question I do have regarding your shoe string self watering how do you prevent the water from being a nesting area for mosquitoes (which we are told standing water is a breeding ground for them) also is there ever an issue with algae growing in the water?
@orinadominic2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your good questions. About mosquitoes you can use lids but make some holes on the lid where the shoe laces can go through into the water and out of the container About the algae you need to wash your containers and shoe laces withh soap after every 10 days to make them absorb water well

You are a great teacher. I also plant in sacks. But I see I need to improve by putting stones and sands on the bottom. Also I just plant one per sack but I see I can put up to 4 pieces. Thanks a lot.

Bona unaweka pebbles na sand at the bottom of the sack?
@orinadominic2 жыл бұрын
To encourage drainage in the soil. And also to encourage aeration in the soil from the bottom so that vegetables can get fresh air

Why prepare the soil and wait for 2 weeks?
@orinadominic2 жыл бұрын
So that the manure can incorporate well with soil before planting
@elizabethm.74663 жыл бұрын
I thought they are planted as a single stem, now I know
@obinoJames6 ай бұрын
still you can but it will take longer to harvest significant onions unlike when using three-four stems.
