i dont think u need "must have" any of the buckets and pond fertilizer.. thats what the shops want u to think.. all my plants do very well in normal backyard sand and normal pots and kitty litter trays for the lilies..

Nice pond. It's not completely necessary to have pond baskets (with holes), my lilies are in plastic container normally used for dishes and grow very well without leaking soil into the water. Also I prefer a larger container so the rhizome can grow without repotting.

So brilliant that you don't have too dive in pond, smarty pants. Just pull one end of the string and it'll easily feed freely thru the basket.

I love the way you were cutting off any ideas of coming up with your own pots and fertilizers and soils. Promoting your own website and business is a great way but you have to be careful with your wording. As everyone above is saying it's not necessary for all those things it might've been better to suggest using your products. This way those who think they can do their own will just give up and go to your website and give you a chance. We have a Hardy Lily is here and they grow like weeds and it's actually over populating our ponds and lakes. Nice video though

My friends who have ponds and even the waterlily nursery tell me that waterlily must be planted in pots without holes.

55 seconds in and no thanks. You don't have to have aquatic compost, garden topsoil as long as it is not too rich is fine. You don't have to have aquatic plastic container. You can grow lilies in anything from a hessian bag to a cat liitter tray.

True. Or just put them in the pond gravel. Attaching a stone with tire wraps to the rhizome helps preventing them from floating up.

can water lilies be kept in a tub? if so, what is the minimum depth of water that they need...and will they happily survive the winter in the a tub?

I use mole hill soil, from a field or river bank, I've never bought aquatic soil ever,

why plant the growth point in the corner? that lily will need to planting again in a season.

It is for growth. So the tuber can grow across the container.
