Wow, cool, i didnt think of that aspect. I have the RC4WD BEAST 2, and its an all metal frame with the plastic hard body on top so you get a lot of vibration, hollow, plastic rattling sounds that I dont like. Of course, adding an ESS Sound kit is in the near future, but the noise still will bug me. Do you think the Plastidip will deaden most of the plastic noises? My guess is it would help gor sure..thanks for your input.

Cool video. I just about an ECS Amp MT kit, and will paint it using the Plast-Dip color of Burnt Orange, with Black behind it. There's a video showing painted car rims using this color. Hoping mine will turn out looking nice! By the way, do you think it's a good idea to add gorilla tape on after you paint it, or will the gorilla tape not stick to the plasti-dip paint? Just wondering. Thx

Do you have enough with 1 can to do a complete body? I need 2 cans (100ml ones) of tamiya paint for a body. Given you want a lot of coats of plastidip, I may also need 2 cans?? How did you clear your windows? You diddn't use the window masks? Exacto nife when dry? Thx for the video, and awesome result!! My eyes are still hurting, so bright!! wow!!

Laurent Patriarche One can of Plasti-dip is plenty for an RC body. I do a lots of Plasti-dipping on my 1:1 car 17” rims and use one can per rim. And one can per rim has always been enough to peel nicely. The windows he just put a decal on from the outside. And no, cutting plasti-dip with an Exacto knife (or any other knife for that matter) will not work very well because plasti-dip if rubbery. If you have any masking ... remember, peel when wet! I know I’m two months late to reply I was just scrolling thru comments but hey I figured might as well reply lol Cheers

so years after doing this ...how did it hold up? i am curious because plasi-dip is meant to peel off. how did it hold up to rocks, sticks, and dirt being kicked up into it? i know crashing and flexing the body shouldn't have hurt it because it is pretty flexible paint.

Yeah its held up great. Put a couple layers on so it will be more durable. But its held up great

@@munnday86 i usually use traditional type paints to paint my bodies but in recent years i have been sealing the finished paint job with a coat of flex seal (white or clear) and that stuff is awesome, it also seems to help re-inforce the body's weak points. downside is its $13-$14 a can. since i am a basher any little bit helps 🤣🤣

Monster RC there are a couple things. It keeps the body from cracking. And if you want to paint it just peel and plastidip again..

You should mention it has a plastic covering on it as not all Lexan bodies do so you may need to mask if it doesn't...it is slightly translucent (transparent is what it was before you paint it)

I did the same on my 1st RC and it was a slash also. I am getting the new X-Maxx, do you think I can go over the factory painted body? I have no clue what color would look good, do you have a suggestion? do different colors? Do you think I can tape off some flames? or do the old blob style military camo with a star or just add some of the bullet hole stickers? I just want to be if you feel up to it I will send you the body and pay you for your time to do it. I am disabled and I get the shakes and would end up messing it up. I am in GA, I assume that you are in Florida because of the tag on the car video. Think about it let me know. All nice videos by the way.

did u say 2-3 mins of shaking? thats crazy i say 30 sec maybe no more, been plasti dipping pc parts for ages now gettting away with great gloss coats finishing up with the gloss plastidip which as a lot of people know, doesnt make anything gloss unless it was originally gloss and you applied both the color and gloss perfectly.... sry it just bugs the hell out of me advising ppl to waste that much time dickin around with the can before using it :P

look the best use for plasti dip is to use it for masking your windows or lines in an RC that your painting stay your windows to protect them while you paint or hydro dip your RC use an exacto knife to cut and trim your windows out to protect just the area you don't want the paint when painted peal the rest of the plasti dip you are done windows are protected rest is painted. basically it's liquid mask in a spray can. the finder Wells will not last long on a track because rocks and dabree will peel it fast. it's not really for painting it's for masking.
