Good summary better stated than the rulebook imho. I feel like it’s good they have a solo mode so you can bumble through learning the rules for several hours before you share it with your friends

Hey, thanks for this! I will read the rules of course, but is still great to hear someone else explain a game to get the idea of how it works.

Thank you very much for the tutorial, very well explained. In my playgroup we think that the rules need a more detailed explanation, because there are a lot of situations that aren't clarified. About the way the items are used, we agreed in that we can use all the items we want, but each item can only be used once per battle. All in all I am enjoying it a lot because I have read the lore from the rpg books of Trudvang and I love that world :)

Thanks, glad you liked it - I have already heard a lot of varying opinions to the rules about usage of items. We are playing it by the book here, but I am seeing people taking liberties :D after all the game is for us and it’s us who should enjoy it ;-)The rules regarding attacks and combat in general could get some more explanations - I will definitely agree with you on this - if you have any questions, maybe I can help. As for the lore this is my first meeting with Trudvang but I am a fan of Norse Mythology so I am feeling right at home here :-D

Great video! Thank you. Now I am off to play it :) What do you think about house rules - which are a must, nice to haves etc

Welcome to the channel and thanks for the kind word. Glad you found the video helpful. I don't believe we house ruled anything for Trudvang, to be honest :) it isn't very problematic as far as gameplay goes :D I think that the way items are managed can be annoying to some and that's where some changes might be made :)

Is the difficulty balanced for player count, or is there a "sweet spot" for how many players you have without the game being overly difficult or easy?
@lonevik2 жыл бұрын
It is hard to say. Definitely more players helps for team composition in some events where the Book of Sagas asks you for a specific class (more chance you have it). On the other hand, in situations where ALL characters MUST pass a test it's tougher to fulfill the condition with 4 players. Bosses scale to player count both in HP and number of times they attack, and you add additional enemies at 3 and 4 player counts each time they are spawned. If anything, I'd say that it's easier solo ;) you'll be able to see it in a week when I post my first solo chapter here...

7:44 I think you have included the solo version of the Feat cards inside which shouldn't be there for a non solo setup.
@lonevik2 жыл бұрын
In a multiplayer game you use all the feat cards for a character... there should be 8 lvl 1 feats 8 lvl 2 feats 2 ultimates and 8 legendary - 26 in total per character. The ones that are marked for solo play are used for your Hired Hand character. So even in solo play your character will make use of all 28 Feat cards, but your hired hand will only have 4 lvl 1, 4 lvl 2 and 4 legendary. :)

What happens to your level ups at the end of a scenario? Nice vid, thanks for making it
@lonevik2 жыл бұрын
Your levelled feats remain in your deck for next adventures. Your XP that were not spent go into your bag to be saved until the next playthrough :)

Sadly a lot of coop games suffer the same player count issue :) 4 at a table seems to be the most popular limit for most games. I myself am looking for 5 player games and it gets trickier with time to find good titles for groups above 4 :)

This game looks fantastic. The only thing I don't like is the way items are used. All items should be available at any time
@lonevik2 жыл бұрын
I see what you mean. That is what all rpg games got us used to. Here - they made a different choice and the items are more like your deck which you build and cycle through. I feel that the fact that you can use only the top one forces the players to spend their C and look for more opportunities to use the gear, so that we can make use of all of the items we have. The fact that we can put them in any order before an adventure can provide satisfying combinations as well. However, I can see how many players can dislike this mechanic. I don't have a strong opinion for or against yet. I am trying to look for reasons for the design decisions - and collecting my and everyone else's thoughts for the upcoming review. Thank you for sharing :)

Yes it’s better to think of it as opportunity for storytelling more than a traditional rpg experience. That said nothing to stop you from house ruling. I mean who you gonna hurt? 🤫
@lonevik2 жыл бұрын
@@GabrielBishop Exactly! I think that this sentiment was best transmitted by Orange Nebula - the designers of Unsettled, who even wrote in the rulebook that if you are in doubt about any rules during the game, remember that it's your own adventure and narrative and just do what you see is fitting for the story :D I've been following their advice in all narrative games ever since :P
