Great video, very educational! One note, 30:00, You actually can shoot targets through Heavy Walls and Fortified Walls if they are located, as that means you have Line of Sight, meaning the only factor is Line of Cover. Pg19 of Corebook states Heavy Protection (-3 Hits) for Heavy and Fortified Walls.

Pg. 9, on the rules for the "located" condition reads, "Line of sight to Located Operators is no longer broken by light walls, barricades and spaces containing a Smoke or Gas overlay." So even though someone is located, you cannot target them through a heavy or fortified wall because your line of sight is still blocked by those walls. The only instance when you can do this is when you're targeting someone who is leaning from behind a heavy or fortified wall, in which case the "line of cover" is used to determine the protection rating.

@21:50 in addition to challenging LoS for "shoot" actions you can also challenge LoS for both "destroy" and "throwable" actions. If there is NO LoS during a destroy / throwable action that was challenged, then the action is consumed with no effect and the action cannot be used again.

Thanks for all the videos guys, they're really helpful. I just got the game and tried our first game today. Our biggest questions were 1). Can defenders go outside? 2). Operator abilities that say "ignore Light walls or Barricades", especially Sledge's ability. It says deployable, ignoring a maximum of one light wall or barricade, does that mean I could technically target a square containing barb wire on the other side of a light wall, destroy the barbwire, somehow move through the light wall and then shoot a defender adjacent to me?

1.) yes! Defenders can go outside :) 2.) You’re mostly correct here. Sledge can target a square on the other side of a light wall or barricade. But because you’ve targeted that space with a destroy action, the light wall or barricade will be destroyed, since the wall is attached to the square you can target. Thus, you’re not moving through a wall that’s still up, you’re moving through a breach you just made. And you’ll still destroy anything else attached to the square you targeted in addition to that wall, like any barbed wires, cameras, etc…

I have a few more questions if you don't mind? I want to take the game to my local gaming night, but I want to be clear on some questions first. 1) Do you know of a forum or discord that people use to discuss this game. Since it is so new it's hard to find information on it. 2) Can operators on the second floor spend an action to redeploy their entryway overwatch token to a new entryway? 3) Like Sledge, Ash's ability says "Ignore a Barricade", I'm assuming you do not destroy the barricade your line a sight passes through, unless the targeted space is orthogonally adjacent to the barricaded. 4) Pulse, his 2nd ability says "perform a shoot action on located operator". The word "the" makes me think that he has to be the one to locate the operator with his first ability (so they have to be used in tandem). However if an operator was already located from another source, could Pulse use his 2nd ability on them? 5) Lastly, IQ's reaction says, "ignore special gadget effects that cost an action". Is the "extra" action just any ability that requires an action or an ability like Jager's reaction that says, "Operators may spend an

Production has finished, the factory is currently working on packing the games into boxes. The current estimate is to begin shipping before the Chinese New Year, but this could obviously change for any amount of unforeseen delays. If you didn’t back the KS, I’d keep a close eye on MG’s store on their website in the coming months.

When smoke drops down and is firing at blitz 1:32, doesn’t blitz have overwatch? Or doesn’t 180 cover directly to the side? And if blitz had light cover from an adjacent, in line of fire obstacle (he doesn’t here) would that merge with his own light cover ability to become heavy cover? Great vid btw, my copy arrived today and this is the best learning aid ever. Now to get back to work applying all these damn stickers. And get over my disappointment you can’t use the overwatch markers with the base rings 😢, so no names on the figures ( unless the name stickers can go on the mini base, but I don’t think so with the base’s bevel and their shorter circumference)

Overwatch watches everything in a 180 arc in front of the Overwatching operator, so if you approach directly from the side, they will not shoot you. And yes, if Blitz has any kind of light cover from soft wall, barricade, obstacle… he will get Heavy Cover because he always has light cover from his shield, you are correct on this one! This is a good reason a shield Op can sometimes be tough to kill.

I’m confused by the note at 52:06… since LOS is traced from the center dot of Ash’s space, she would have to be directly in front of the window like you said in the video, wouldn’t she? I’m not seeing how she could have thrown the nade from her original space…

From the space to the side of the window, she could throw the smoke grenade onto the space with the obstacle, which would still allow the smoke overlay to cover the same four spaces

Page 9: Operators become located when hit by a shoot action. Do the hardcovers make the shoot action miss or just do no damage? The keyword "hit" is the confusion here with what was said around the one hour mark.

Yes, “hit” is a confusing word choice, an Operator actually becomes located anytime they’re targeted by a shoot action. Even if no dmg was dealt.

With heavy protection and removing 3 hits , do dice split? Let's say I roll 3 dice 2 hits each and you have heavy protection. Does that mean I hit for 3 or do I have to remove the whole dice in which case I would only hit for 2?

Good question! You add up the total from all the dice, then subtract for protection. So if you rolled three dice and got two hits on each dice, that’s a total of 6, and after heavy protection subtracts 3, you would take 3 dmg

I'd love to learn the game I paid for but since I'm not going to receive it due to their "added funding requirement" I refused to be a part of, I'll have to skip this. Sorry. I'm pretty bitter about it.
