What really helped me was the understanding of the melody. I try to always play from something. Bob Moses taught me this.

All this time I've been drumming Welcome to the Jungle. In my heart I'm actually into jazz.

Man, I play all that stuff, but you clarified and connected simplified elements. Twice, I said out loud, " Ya Man! Of Course!" and a little light went on in my head. Muchas Gracias, Compadre!

Thanks for this breakdown. I have a band rehersal tomorow and they said that I will play a solo. Thanks for this last minute lesson. I will definitely use this "SECRET WEAPON!".

Great lesson sir! That 6 stroke roll is monster. So much you can do with it. So fun!

Very nice ! You do it very well! The whole time I've been thinking who you remind me of, now it finally occurred to me, it's Higgins from the series Magnum! When I looked at them again I wasn't sure more Higgins or more Magnum? Anyway, this is a nice memory of the time I watched Magnum on TV with my friend... Thank you so much for all the good stuff!

Thanks so much!! I often get that I look like Ted Lasso, but I can see Higgins also haha

Loving this jazz soloing content, been focussing on comping and wasn’t sure entirely what to do in a soloing/trading fours context. Are you releasing a more in depth jazz drums course?

What sticks are you using in this video?

Whats up! I'm using the Vic Firth AJ4's or AJ2's, I can't remember which specifically... I go back and forth between the two
