Feel like they key is to just go hard with anti-keyword. Run a ton of vanguard with marshals to give full rerolls and a ton of anti vehicle breachers nearby to give anti vehicle and full rerolls.

@@stuartlittledrowning4965 yeah sadly the only answer to monsters is the Omni-sterilizer with manipulus. I had a trio of ironstriders with lascannons throw everything they had at a greater daemon and didn’t do a single effing damage. REALLY hoping they get a buff this winter with the codex.

I have a special place in my heart for the Admech. The first image I remember seeing of 40k was a bright red Kataphron Breacher staring down the viewer, it's arc claw sparking with energy. It really stuck with me, and it really drew me into 40k.

Dominus seems better for Steriliser. 12" flamer is cute, but 24" on Dominus means no rounds go without shooting his deadly weapon, which has a more consistent amout of shots to boot (always 6 shots of Dev wounds from Volkite + 4 normal shots from Phosphor) which is exactly the same amount of average shots the Manipulus has with his flamer at half the range, and considering you'll take Dominus on a unit of Breachers he has full rerolls, so he'll barely miss shots despite not having a Torrent weapon.

The Rad Bombardment is cool in theory until you realize that there are several armies that gain buffs from either having models killed, getting battle-shocked or just straight up ignore and laugh at it and you are giving your opponent the choice! WHY?! That makes no sense! Case in point, Dark Angels get several buffs if their units are battle-shocked with their whole grim resolve to prevail in the most dire of circumstances. Sisters of Battle get plus to hit and wound if models in their units die, and Necrons just straight up don't fucking CARE as they can just get right back up. For being the Imperium's premier shooting army, it is doing a piss poor job at what it is supposed to be doing. SHOOTING. Nerfing our shooting down to 4+ and requires us to be stationary in an Imperative to get to 3+ is laughable and slap in the face. Vanguards are supposed to be inhuman nightmare-inducing elite cyborg soldiers that leave the battlefields they stride on into desolate wastelands poisoned with radiation, Rangers are Hunter-killers without equal that hunt down the enemy for years and decades just to mercilessly gun them down, but they are no tougher than your average garbage Conscript from the Imperial Guard. And GW really messed up the Keywords for Kastellan Robots; they get the Infantry Keyword once a Datasmith is added to it, which means a unit with Anti-Infantry weapons just fucking wipe these hulking behemoths like it's wet tissue paper! Yes, I am malding and frustrated. The rules team should know better and do better.

@@alphaprimus7794 Two against tyranid. One against marines. One against death guard. One against custodies. 1500 point games. A few units of vanguard. One unit of rangers to sticky objective my home. Two neutron dune crawlers. A 6 man unit of breachers . Tech priests, the Manipulus bomb. Four shooty bots . And dragoons. Imperatives felt fine. Use conquer when you need a key unit to go somewhere and still wanna shoot. Default to protector otherwise. Keep your big stuff in your deployment zone for the secondary benefits. Fun games.

Unfortunately, for some reason the Manipulus aka Potato Head doesn't have the Imperative Doctrinas ability, so he can't advance and shoot his insane cannon. Also wouldn't put him with electropriests unit because the Lethal hits don't interact well with the Devestating Wounds ability. Edit: If he joins a unit that has Doctrinas, I guess he'd be able to advance and shoot then?

From a goonhammer article it seems that if the priests join units the terminology states "The unit" gains the doctrina buff, so they do get it.

As upset as everyone seems to be with admech... there is still a unit releasing this year. Chances are its good so you buy it..... and maybe 18 of them. I just started playing so i cant be upset, but am hopeful. As a publicly traded company it makes sense the new unit coming is something we all have to purchase and a lot of.

Nah that's not a guarantee at all! Most times it's an hq that comes out and it's rarely the best thing ever, it can happen eh like with desolation marines but even that was just one broken unit in a box with 4 new units so...yeah not everything is broken on release. The problem with the admech codex is that the index is shit...objectively shit and the codex sadly has already been printed for the winter release (their printing cycle is 6 months) so they won't have any time to fix it sadly.

This whole video feels like a huge attempt to make ad mech sound more balanced and stronger than they actually are. There are a huge amount of negatives with this army, which you basically never touched on, and any time you did, you would say something like "but that's happened to a lot of armies". No it hasn't? We have to thank GW legally for preview access. But we try to discuss constructive ways to run an army or faction rather than comparing them to other indexes. Reason being is that if you play the faction we want players to have take things they can focus on and implement into their lists.

Although in my opinion, you don't talk about the negative aspects of the army (of which there are many). If players want to be able to play a faction, I think it's crucial that they also understand how not to play it, and what units to avoid

Did a match yesterday against necron (1365 points because thats all ive built so far). Was a close match with 1 vp difference victory for necron. The BS4+ really really stinks, but all the shooting profiles on admech slap SUPER hard. They always have enough strength, AP and damage to give pause to any unit. Its really gated behind the BS4+ missing you tons of shots. Was hilarious to see his 240pt (20 necron warrior) blob just disappear with 18 mortal wounds from a perfect rolled manipulus + omni sterilizer (80pt total). Boy was he battleshocked for a moment.

They're over-costed, badly. They require leadership tests just to use their buffs from the datasmith. They lost 2" of movement, 1AP on all weapon profiles, and lost half their attacks to the "twin linked tax" if you have doubles of the arm weapons modelled. They hit on 4s with no way to gain re-rolls other than 1s from Cawl, maybe... Basically they suck, hard. The Goonhammer rant makes some very good suggestions for how robots should have been written to work.

They literally called rad bombardment one of their favourite detachment abilities and forced positivity about it. It's literally the worst detachment rule in the game, which BENEFITS half the armies Admech might face, and does absolutely nothing to most of the rest. This is a GW sponsored video. They started thanking GW, and then they outright lied saying rad bombardment is "very high impact" and "makes your opponent think a lot." These are straight up lies. This ability is so bad that Richard Siegler is on record saying he wouldn't take a detachment rule at all if he had the choice. This entire video is fake, forced positivity, for a GW sponsorship. It amounts to marketing and distraction from the issues the army faces. Do not take anything said here as genuine.

A) It only ends up benefiting a very small number of armies, not half, and that "benefit" still comes at the cost of dead models. B) MANY of the secondaries require you to snag objectives either in your deployment zone or nearby ones in no man's land, so if your opponent chooses to "ignore" it by battle shocking all of their units the first round they're going to get scraped on secondaries (I've seen it happen in two different games already). C) Chip wounds is chip wounds. It doesn't put out the number of wounds as, say, really optimized abilities like Oath of Moment, but across my games I've seen it hit four to ten mortals over the course of a given game. All to say, it pressures the opponent and limits their scoring potential first turn and chips away at them all game.
